Guess what, anime fans? Your shot at shinobi super-stardom is just around the corner!
Just announced, Viz Entertainment and Warner Bros. are teaming up to do a live-action Naruto movie! But they need your help to fill roles. So, this year at Sakura-Con, these two powerhouse production studios will be holding open auditions for key roles in the movie! These auditions will be open to all convention attendees - who have heard about them.
See, Viz and WB didn't want to cause too much of a stir about this whole thing. They know the Naruto series has millions of fans here in the States, and they didn't want a bunch of folks showing up to the con JUST to audition. So, all information on the auditions is being spread by word-of-mouth. Don't bother looking for info on the auditions on the official websites for Viz, WB, or even Sakura-Con - it's not there. Only those who have heard about this special event and who attend the convention will be allowed to participate. In order to receive instructions for the audition, one must mention the code word "Pakkun" at the registration desk when they receive their pass into the convention. The kindly folks at registration will then give those who speak the password a card with the time and location of the auditions, as well as the name of the person in charge.
Everyone wishing to participate in the auditions is encouraged to cosplay as the character whose role they are auditioning for. Due to the popularity of certain roles, those participating are encouraged to show up dressed as minor characters in the Narutoverse, such as the Chunin Exam proctors or Anbu. The more obscure the character, the better your chances of landing a role! Don't forget to tell your friends, and come on out to Seattle next weekend for Sakura-Con!
