Someone told me they are used for alchemy, are they worth something because
I have 11 of them and they are just sitting there and not being used.
Does anyone need / want them?

Sacred Keys are required in order to craft the Legendary Backwings. ...but that's all they're used for, and you only need one per quest, so most people don't need more than a couple, and hardly anyone needs more than 6 since there are only six different Backwings quests.
