It is not because 50 pink giftboxes is around 500k whereas a golden giftbox is only 200k.

Is there a hard cap currently at level 3 or is it possible to attain level 4 at the moment but you will need to use level 2-4 alchemy recipes?

Is spamming the Dumpster Dive really one of the only viable ways in hopes to get the rarer components for formulas?

There is no hard cap. Level 8 and higher alchemist do exist at the moment.

Yes, you need to use lvl 2 or 3 formulas to get to level 4.

It is one of the few ways aside from buying it off the marketplace.

You have to keep in mind how many possible items come from Dumpster Dive, 8 dives is really nothing.
