The Alchemy Forum is full of wonderful user-written guides on most aspects of Alchemy, including S3xy Pantz's Alchemist's Encyclopedia where you'll find the details of every formula on Gaia. With Philosopher's Caches becoming much cheaper lately, however, many people have been asking specifically about formulas that can be completed using only items found in the Philosopher's Caches, so I've decided to put this guide together for easy reference.

Each of the below posts lists all formulas of a given level that can be completed using only items from Philosopher's Caches, as well as those that also - or only - require other formulas found in this guide (formulas that just use formulas that just use Caches! It makes sense, I swear.)

Crafted Components

Just a note before we get into the meat of the list. I'm going to take the time to explain what a lot of these formulas are going to be like.

Alchemy components come from various sources. Most come from Philosopher's Caches. Some come from Daily Chance and Lite Fish Drops, while others come from Enki's Catch. Some components, however, are so rare and powerful that they can only be obtained through Alchemy itself; you must craft them from lesser components.

Many of the formulas that use only Cache Components are used to make these Crafted Components. Crafted Components have two things in common: first, they're Game Items just like Cache Components, so you can't equip them on your avatar in any way. Second, they usually have a Very Low crafting rate, making them difficult to successfully create. For more information on crafting rates, visit the guide What Are The Odds? - Collating Crafting Chances, but the most important thing to know is this: if you want to craft a formula with a Very Low crafting rate, you should seriously consider doing it when your level is one higher than the level of the formula. This boosts your crafting rate at the cost of earning fewer Crafting XP from the craft. If you're two or more levels higher than the formula, the craft is guaranteed to succeed, but you won't earn any XP at all; so if you want XP but don't want to fail countless times, stick to the ones that are one level below you. On the other hand, if you're feeling adventurous, go for the ones that are your own level! Maybe you'll get lucky, and in any case, you won't have to craft nearly as many of them to level up.

Since crafted components usually only require Cache components to make, I'll be listing formulas that use Crafted Components in this thread, since when you get down to it it'll still be true that Caches are all you'll need. You might want to look ahead to later levels to see if your options for this level include something that will be useful to you down the road!

Using the Caches Themselves

Formulas in this guide usually use the Game-item Components contained in the color-coded Caches. The formulas in this post don't, however; instead, they use the bags themselves as components! Some use the color-coded ones, while others use the basic Philosopher's Caches that contain the color-coded ones. Conveniently, all such formulas are Level 1. (At least for now.)

Be aware that crafting these formulas will not help you level up. Level 10 is the highest level, and while you can still gather some XP, it won't help you in any way; the site won't let you actually fill the bar this time, and there is no benefit to XP until the bar is filled.
