I don't see any salt anywhere in the alchemy shop. You would think that the component(s) would be readily available for anyone. Besides the marketplace, is there any other place that sells it ?
Salt is one of the components that comes from a Philosopher's Cache, not from any store. There are guides in the forum that tell you where components come from and in what recipes they're used.
And, no, most components are -not- "readily available for anyone", though I agree they should be more available for the lower level formulae. But some Level 1 formulas can cost much more to craft than a Level 10 formula, just because of which ingredients are used.
If you're starting out, don't use a formula that needs Salt. Make Orb Aggregate and Philosopher's Cache instead.
