You don't need to use up much of your current amount of gold to get to level 10.

Caches are very profitable and can be made to get more funds if needed.

it really depends on what you make and how you go about alchemy I'm lv 9 and I have made gold but if I had not made gold it would have cost me about 17mil to get to lv 9

since gaia has gone to the new cache system it takes a shorter amount to make and it it is more likely you will get the item you want.

Would you please elaborate on the 'how you go about alchemy' if you have time? Doesn't have to be super detailed. ^^

well it really comes down to 4 way to go about alchemy


1] you can make caches and cases and get all your formulas this way .Which is super cheap and can be very profitable but also very time consuming

2]you can buy all your formulas and components at the mp this way is very fast but also very expensive

3] you can trade items in the exchange but you have to get some items first . This can be medium expense and medium time to complete

4] is a mix of all the above make caches while, also buying and trading


#4 is the best it is the quickest and cheapest

Mind you, this was back from mid-September, 2011, to end of January, 2012. Prices change, the easiest formulas for each level has changed. The new changes to the Philosopher's Cache may make some things easier, but some harder.

You certainly aren't posting much on dA these days!

The main cost factor is whether a person is going for XP or for particular items. If your main focus is leveling up, then you sometimes have to resign yourself to crafting four or five or six of the same bloody items, because at that time and that level, those are the easiest to craft. But if you really want to craft certain things, then it can take longer and become much more expensive.

Well one of the good things about Alchemy is that you don't have to rush it. There's no time limit on making it to Level 10 once you start dabbling. ^_^
