A Very Incomplete Guide to Component Sources

Hello, Vampyrn here. Welcome to another guide by Vampyrn Inc. We are compiling a complete list of all formulae for Alchemy and the materials needed to complete them. If anyone has any of the missing formulae or any helpful hints PM me with them. Thanks, and good luck Alchemists!

Note: If you like this Guide please <3 it. I spent a lot of time contacting people and gathering the necessary data to create this guide, donations are welcomed and loved.

The information I have gathered so far about the Masquerade Event is the following:
1. Flash Space is useless, I haven't heard of anyone receiving an item there and getting to 10 kills is "impossible".
2. There are a total of 3 Formulas so far. Two come from the Treehouse and cost 10 Wing Stickers each. Another came from the initial event at the mansion in Flash Space after you found the three components.
3. The components for the Treehouse Formulas can be obtained by killing opponents in the Event Forum. To attack click the event button similar to Piehard "Pie User" button.

(Sept 26th, 2011) - Busy day for Dev Notices! First up, the Level 10 reward will now be granted to Everyone! In addition to the reduced requirements for the Golden Magical Giftbox Formula, alternate paths have been added to the Philosopher's Cache and Alchemist's Case. For those of you who crafted GGB's before the change was implemented, you will be granted a free GGB for every one you crafted!!

(Sept 16th, 2011) - The Limited Edition: Golden Magical Giftbox Formula that was released recently has been removed from stores. However, the Formula paths have now been made a permanent part of the Main Formula. Any remaining Limited Formulae are still existing, furthermore, the Golden Magical Giftbox Formula is purchasable in The Bifrost shop for 5,000 gold. For More Info.

(Sept 13th, 2011) - It seems that any Formula containing an EI (Evolving Item) as a component allows the use of any Generation of said EI in the Formula. This has only been confirmed with a few Formulae so far, but it sounds logical.

This arcane art lets you use secret formulas to combine items into volatile concoctions-- they may transmute into rare and valuable treasures, or they might blow up in your face. You can discover these formulas all over Gaia, but the simplest way is to buy them in The Bifrost Shop or in The Cash Shop!

How It Works:

To use Alchemy you must have:
1. A Formula (Purchased from Bifrost/La Victoire, or Found in Boxes)
2. The Level required for the Formula. (Formula 2: Jellyfish Dress required Level 2 Alchemy.)
3. The necessary materials for the Formula. (Material are found in various places)

Formulae are like Recipes for zOMG, when you use the Recipe Successfully, it disappears.
Confirmed! Upon success you receive the item and the Formula disappears. If you fail, you lose the gold it cost to attempt the Formula; however, you keep the Formula and the Components.

Formulae are NOT RIGs.
Formulae for Alchemy give you either the specific item the Formula is for, or nothing.

Every Alchemist starts off at level 1. Gaining levels requires you to create items, thus gaining experience (XP). You gain experience equivalent to the level the formulae being used. i.e. A level 3 formulae grants 3 XP while a level 1 formulae grants 1 XP.

In order to use higher level formulae you must be the corresponding level. i.e. Formula 6: Black Sword Sash, you must be level 6 or higher to make it.

Most of the formulae are found in Chance Boxes such as Pink Links or Pink Magical Giftbox.
You can only buy the lowest formulae, the best must be found through boxes or other possible methods.

Ingredients range from zOMG drops, equipable items bought through the MP to items found in Daily Chance.
There's really no one place you find anything yet, and all the place to discover ingredients are yet to be found.

How many formulas do you need to complete to level-up?

From level 1 to 2 it takes 10 level 1 formulas.
From level 2 to 3 it takes 10 level 2 formulas or 20 level 1 formulas.
From level 3 to 4 it takes 10 level 3 formulas or 40 level 2 formulas.
From level 4 to 5 it takes 10 level 4 formulas or 40 level 3 formulas.
Etc.

Of course any combination is possible too.
Example:
From level 3 to 4 [you can use] 5 level 3 formulas and 20 level 2 formulas.

[You] are currently able to get materials and recipes from the magical gift boxes as well as daily chance. [I don't] know what materials, just heard from others that you can get [them] from the brown and pink, etc., magical gift boxes and now the rare golden magical gift box that holds stardust and shark's blood.

Formulae Alternate Options

Many Formulae have alternate component options that become available when you have obtained one item from that Formula.

i.e. Formula 1: Valefor Academy by default requires 10 x Evergreen Bound Broom, but if you own at least one Arcane Gem-stone Broom or Firebird Feather Broom those options show up as well.
Note: If you own one of the alternates but not the default, the default option will not be shown.

There are three main boxes which contain Alchemical Components and Formulae: Golden Magical Giftbox, Philosopher's Cache, and Alchemist Case.

Golden Magical Giftbox - Contains assorted Components and Formulae.
Philosopher's Cache - Contains assorted Components.

Shark's Blood, Stardust, and Lapis Lazuli have so far only been found in the Golden Magical Giftbox so be prepared to pay a lot for these Components for some time.
