I'd suggest the violin or the piano 'cause those are more impressive, and you can get more gigs with them. And you should learn Latin, that way it'd be easy to learn Spanish, French and Italian. Since you're gonna play an instrument, most foreigners interested in your concerts will speak one, or all those.

Though, as a current student of, Mandarin is going to be useful it is also a very difficult language. The sentence structure and tones are... eek... I don't know how you'd be able to teach yourself... you'd definetly need a tutor for that one.

Japanese would be cool since most America teenagers are obsessed and so... that'd be something you could show off or simply learn because you like it.
