I'm English. From the West Midlands. Despite what you may have heard, we are neither Southerners nor Northerners. And I'm not from Birmingham (for some reason, everytime I say I'm from the West Midlands everyone thinks I'm a Brummie). Ah well.

Has anyone else noticed if you go abroad to English-speaking countries (or meet non-English English speakers) everyone assumes you're posh? I spent three days in New York patiently explaining I didn't know Prince William or Harry.

And I love the rain too! It's raining now, in fact.

You were a part of the British empire back then. You fought for independence and I respect that. America back then was just another island to colonise and expand the empire.

The English and the Americans have been allied through two world wars.

We have YOUR nuclear missile warning systems in OUR country which gives us about thirty seconds warning and you about ten minutes. If anything, we have been given the short straw, thank-you-very-much.

haha yes I'm pretty sure that happened over 200 years ago...plus we weren't even a country back then, in which case they can't have tried to destroy something that didn't exist? If anything America was trying to "destroy" Britain's empire, which couldn't be further from the truth. razz lol plz not to be trolling, kthx.
