It really depends on the branch of Christianity and how attached people are to their beliefs. I can only speak for Mormonism and say that it's strictly prohibited and can be an excommunicable offense depending on circumstances and if the "offender" actually wants to change. Otherwise, I haven't had as much of a chance as I would like to research other religions, so I can't really say.

The reason Christians disregard a lot of the old Jewish law is because they believe that that Law of Moses was fulfilled with the death of Jesus Christ and that a higher law was enacted at that time.

I'll speak for United Methodists, and say that it is discouraged, but not to that extreme. Your pastor will likely look down on it, depending on the situation, but won't excommunicate you. We view the bible more as a book of lessons to live by than a cold, hard law.

On my opinion is it's as if you're denying god's will and make sins a good thing.

And it's your right to have that opinion smile United Methodism is a fairly moderate/liberal Church, but we do believe things are sins and all that. We just don't go to the extreme of thinking if you've committed certain sins you're automatically barred from heaven.

Well if you make sins a good thing than you will probably do it a lot of times that can cause you a mountain of sins which will ban you from heaven.

I'd like to give salutations to this thread~
Maybe it's just because people from my country are just too over-reacted sometimes, but really, a religious topic usually could lead into conflicts in here, and I really love to join in such a thread like this~
This kind of thing is what I'd really like to see, all people, don't see from where, what race, what religion, all the same~

Now, since I don't really follow on all of the comments, I'll start out from the title.
I'm using my opinion based from what I've known, of course, so I apologize if there's somehow an insulting part or two to any of you.

In Islam, God forbid us to consume useless and unhelathy things, such as alcohol, blood and pork.
Back then, people didn't know why, now they know.
Alcohols are obviously a bad thing, considering it's a golden ticket to death.
Blood, if you think about it, of course, is something dirty. Why when you're bleeding, you'll need to close the bleeding? Because, in the progress, you use anti-bacteria right? That'd simply mean that bloods are actually easy to be infected by foreign bacterias, not to mention if the blood's clean from the very beginning.
Pork, meat taken from the piggies, that eat dirts. Medical tests results gave conclusion that consuming porks could give bad diseases, for the meat itself was filled with, well, 'pig food'.
For us Muslims(yes, that'd be made obvious XD), our God made and forbid things with purposes, though of course, sometimes I need to think hard on some things why did He only made some things forbidden, instead of making those things vanish from this world.

In my opinion, though, Politheism or Monotheism, in the end, in each religion, have one Almighty One.
Try to look back on the past, Egyptians have Ra, Japanese have Amaterasu(Errr... That was the last time I read about it, is it true?), Greek have Zeus and so on.
Some of my religious friend(funny how a weirdo like mine have some religious friends XD) also told me, "The religions these days are similiar, if you have a weak faith on your religion, then you'll find that all religions are true, and the question to you, if there's only one heaven, which God will you choose to believe?"
Those times almost brought me to... Well, probably semi-atheism. Might be not interesting, so I'd better not to bring that up ><

Blood, when fresh, is actually one of the cleanest fluids you have. Bleeding has to be stopped in order to not bleed to death, not because of possible infections. Bleeding actually stops you from getting infections, as the blood is let out in the process.
No, drinking blood could actually be considered healthy, as it contains a high amount of iron.

A) Pigs don't eat dirt. They eat everything and they have a strong digestion system, but the food of pigs is not dirtier than e.g. the grass a cow eats (imagine where she trampled along before, with her hooves covered in her own waste).
B) Your muscles aren't made of what you eat, why should those of a pig?

I thought Muslims weren't allowed to eat pork due to pigs simply being dirty. Which is kinda true.
