Kamirose Nytyngayl 20redapple08 Why? Sex before marriage is forbidden too. did the christians disregard that too? It really depends on the branch of Christianity and how attached people are to their beliefs. I can only speak for Mormonism and say that it's strictly prohibited and can be an excommunicable offense depending on circumstances and if the "offender" actually wants to change. Otherwise, I haven't had as much of a chance as I would like to research other religions, so I can't really say. The reason Christians disregard a lot of the old Jewish law is because they believe that that Law of Moses was fulfilled with the death of Jesus Christ and that a higher law was enacted at that time. I'll speak for United Methodists, and say that it is discouraged, but not to that extreme. Your pastor will likely look down on it, depending on the situation, but won't excommunicate you. We view the bible more as a book of lessons to live by than a cold, hard law. On my opinion is it's as if you're denying god's will and make sins a good thing. |
