Ciao, I'm 14 years old and 90% Italian. My grandmother moved to the U.S. from Italy when she was 21, where she had my father. I've never been to Italy, but I really really want to go. I already know a big chunk of the language so far. Whenever I visit my grandmother, her house is packed with things she took with her from Italy, and she talks about how much she misses it. Sometimes, she even calls up her sister (who is still living there) and chats with her in Italian. I'm hoping that I can go with my grandmother next summer with the money I earn from working, but it's highly unlikely. One can hope, I guess. For those of you who are living in Italy, what is it like, and when might be the best time I pay a visit there? |
