As I read through some of the posts in this threat I can't help but think of a quote by William Blake.

"To generalize is to be an idiot."

You know who you are mad

Тёмная ночь, только пули свистят по степи,
Только ветер гудит в проводах, тускло звёзды мерцают...

It's good how we have relative freedoms. It could always be worse, but I hope things change for the better (not turning into a socialist nation.)

Hi there
linda1796
Well, I don't like it all that much. I'm not sure if I have legitimate reasons, but I don't. I would just rather be somewhere more friendly and open...

that is exactly how I feel. But everytime i try and tell somebody that, they get all defensive about it! Its like they are acting like if i leave the country then i'm goingt to make them come with me and make them start believing nazi ideals or something. Nobody can accept that i just don't like it in America.

what do you mean by more friendly and open?

Out of all the people that I have told that i don't care much for the country I live in They pretty much believe that If your not living in the United States of America then you're living in a dirty third world country drinking muddy water and eating beatles and bugs. I hate that kind of mentality...

maybe that what she means by more friendly and open...Where you can share your feelings with somebody and the won't get all defensive about it.

i think that we should all bow down to russia because we suck

Dang,... okay.
I'm sure not many people think that badly of other countries. I mean we know other countries live like us like the UK, China, Japan, France, Spain, etc...

And I think you can find people who are open to things. It's just that a lot of people have bias thoughs on things. You have to weed out the dimwits in every country I believe. I'm not saying America is the most open about things. I wish it was more like the UK or someplace else. Where people can express thing more freely than they do now. I'm not getting defensive.

My opinion on the country of "USA":
You are the bully on the playground we call Earth.

Your way of doing politics can be summed up as "Screw the rules, i have nukes!", and a great percentage of the people we can observe seem to suffer from some type of mental retardation.

That does not mean all Americans are bad however, most people I have talked to seemed to be decent folk, but your goverment and your media can go ******** itself.

You make true statements, however these statements aren't that powerful. You're just making general statements. I have been all over this country and I have talked with so many people for 12 years. and I have found.. that in the big cities (were most of american social data is collected) More people are open to things..but then I talked with the rich mom's and dad's of the cities and they get all defensive and are very closed minded.

It didn't matter in the mid west (Kansas, missour, oklahoma) everybody is close-minded..they say they are open-minded and i see they only hide it, but it always comes back. usually in "jokes".

People that lived in in the mid west (low-class) EXTREMELY CLOSED MINDED!!! They think they are rich compared to other foreign people.

Overall I have found more closed minded people than open minded people. I have also found people that can respect my feeling, but they still keep their close-minded feelings...because they know that life isn't about trying to change people's decisions or feelings. I sense that from a lot of people I talk to. I think that is why they get so defensive. because they feel vulnerable. They feel that it is just so easy swoop into somebody's mind and turn them into a "communist nazi" (paranoide much?)

Now don't misunderstand me. these are not directed towards you..because you don't really seem to have an opinion so I cant really add you to my list of people I have talked to. But those are the facts (based on the many people I have talked to) and there is what I think and feel about how they think and feel...(commentary..ya gotta love it).

I'm not going to lie, I've never been to the mid-west, but I have been to the south and I'm sure the people seem pretty similar, they way you put it. I feel people in small towns like that are very religious and have very strong views because they have most likely not been shown other ways of life like people from places like NY or California.

So my view is that people change depending on where they are located in the US. Not to say all people from small towns are all like this. I have met a few people who are very out there. Also people from the upper class and people who are "paranoide" about communist type view just want to remain rich. They have dreams to reach the top of the ladder, which I don't see that much needed.

My opinion on the matter is kind of in the middle, because i think America can be better but I think it's a great place to live. You can shoot for the stars and claw your way to the top anyway
you like. But the government could be better, starting with how they handle things like war, health care, education, etc. I don't like seeing homeless people and people struggling way beyond what they should be.

I respect your views somewhat.

An Alternate Ending
Halloween`s over!! Screams jack.
Sentinel and Overseer bash Jack`s head!!
Pumpkin pie and other pumpkin treats for eveyone!
Sentinel realizes her mistake, and the world is peaceful again!
Yay!!!!!!! A happy world again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have lived all over America and met all sorts of people. Some are good and some are bad, and unfortunately a lot are ignorant. I find that the ignorance goes up with less education. I recall living in Tennessee as a kid and the people were very nice, but they were afraid of the Black street (yeah the town was so small that all the black people lived on a block). However, my family was raised to judge a person on their merits, not their skin color. I met some very sweet older people on that block (taking it cut off 6 blocks to school).

Many people are afraid here. The media really adds to that. But I find that no matter where I go or have been most people are friendly if you are friendly first.

I am personally frustrated by people comparing socialism to communism and fascism. I put that ignorance on the public school system. I don't think that there is an ideal country, they all have their good and bad points.

My biggest concern as an American citizen is the devastating impact of capitalism on the average person. The very nature of capitalism is to consume and consume. Now it has taken a larger global impact that is causing poor conditions and environmental damage everywhere. How long until the beast consumes itself?

Sometimes life is full of sit!
I dislike USA in the revolutionary war it's all "oh freedom! We need it, it's unanimous!" while there is a bucket of slaves out back!

I didn't see anyone generalyzing. What I saw was people saying MOST americans are this or that, some of them even being right accourding to the facts shown to all of us. Besides, majorities are influential, even if they're not always controlling most issues in a country, the powered minorities are always having to find ways to deal with them, therefore the influence is there in many different grounds and genres.

Now I don't know if all you wanted was to diverge no matter what you had to say or if you were just getting ahead of yourself, but I do believe the prove you're mistaken is there, you just gotta read carefully. Neither we are generalyzing nor we are idiots.
