St. Patty's Day is a moderately big celebration in my family. There are cards (and warning cards!! ^ ^; ), there are reservations, there's gifts...It's fun, though. mrgreen

My mom is Irish, and my great grandmother was full blooded Irish. She used to tell us stories all the time about Ireland. Like, for instance, the colors of the flag are Green, White, and Orange. The green is the color of the Catholic church - hence why Catholics wear green on St. Patrick's day. On the other hand, I'm protestant, which is what the orange stands for, so theoretically I should be wearing orange on St. Patrick's day. The white is the color of God or "holy divinity" for all you non-religious out there. (Because I know someone will jump my case about preeching religion; when in reality it is a religious holiday)

Did you also know St. Patrick was kidnapped by pirates and his real name is Maywen Sucket (Soo-Kit)?
