haha i know websites for it but my computer only shows [][][][][] for when its in a different language

Ooooh. I don't think I have a solution for you. sad What I do is just type pinyin into the browser window that the website provides; it should come up as actual characters on their website. Then I just copy and paste it from their website into the thread or wherever I want to put the Chinese.

If it still doesn't work then maybe some sort of software would be the best. I'm sorry. :/

o its fine, but no it still doesnt work, it doesnt help that i dont know Chinese either i bet lol. but i want to learn the language so badly, seems fun

Just kindly let tell you, never use a translator.=]

oo why not?

It's not encourage.Cuz there will be grammatical error and ppl won't get what you mean plus the whole sentence will sounds weird.

o i see, i wont then!

Ahh haha. Well yeah, that would help a lot! xD

It really is a fun language. I'm American with no Chinese background whatsoever, and started learning two years ago (I'm in my third year). I've enjoyed it since day one. If there are no classes/schools near you than just try to learn on your own via internet, books, etc. That's really how I got into language study before I started attending classes.

That's good,what make you feel it's fun?
o.o its 9:30 a.m. here xDD

Soooo much, haha. How the picture the character expresses gives the meaning of the word (If that makes since. It's hard to explain but i'll try if it's unclear xD.) . The way the language sounds, how different tones change the entire meaning of the word. So much! biggrin ! Plus, with all that aside I just enjoy it! biggrin !

Yeah, my school doesn't either. D:

Haha I've watched that show! I wasn't sure, but I just checked, and yeah it means jump. The Pinyin is Tiao with the fourth tone. 跳

Pinyin is how to say the character written English, if you will, letters. Hope I explained that clearly. xD. So Tiao is the pinyin. The only thing missing is the tone mark on top of one of the letters like this Tiào

Are you coming for the expo? SO MANY PEOPLE.... The pavillions are actually super cool ^^ but you have to wait in super long lines sad
大家好,很高兴碰见这么多海内海外的同胞!
@SaRcaZdic King : You need to install East Asian language to see the character. You can do this by either using your windows disk (just google search the steps) or by downloading the trial version of the microsoft 2007 office suite. After you uninstall microsoft office the language support will still be there.

Oh and is anyone here from Taiwan/currently residing in taiwan?
