Ive been on Gaia a long time and have come to realize Acadians from the maritimes are unknown to most.
Our unique way of speaking "chiac" (a unique way of heavily mixing french and english) is among the first things tourists notice.
People that stay here for extended periods of time tend to say that the overall population has an aura of friendliness like no other.
Holding the door, smiling, nodding, going out of your way to help complete strangers are regular occurrences.
Some people are not used to this and think of it as unnecessary and even funny.
Why is it not so everywhere?
Anyone here been to? live in? or know anyone that lives in the maritime?
If not would you consider visiting one day?
What do you like about your little part of the world? and what do you think sets it apart from the rest?
