Amanda/McKenzie, the problem involved how one could tell if there was a magnetic field on a planet if given a magnet. You would need to suspend said magnetic and then see if the magnet would change direction or not as you moved around it. I asked whether if one could still do this if one were NAKED and HAIRLESS on a barren planet. At first, one could make some rope or string from one's clothing, but then I added the NAKED part. Then it came down to using one's own hair in order to suspend the magnet, but I added the HAIRLESS bit (including noise, ear, eye, and other hair). My classmate and later her adviser suggested using one's own skin to make a thread, but I kept adding things until the person was pretty helpless, NUDE, HAIRLESS, toothless, fingernail-less, etc. and just couldn't do anything (i.e. no knives or tools either). We finally reached the point where the person just couldn't do anything to find the magnetic field other than sit there helpless, NUDE, HAIRLESS, toothless, etc.!
