G.I.T. was founded on October 19th, 2006. The original group comprised of the "chosen" hopeful wanderers and those who saw the thread when it appeared. Around 6 Gaians were told of a "promised land" by aliens. When they reached this "promised land" a few wanderers stumbled upon them and they formed the group. The founders, Utterkaos and AlyaMyst, created the forum and built the group from the ground up. After the forum was created interest in the organization continued to grow. Ever since, we've been gaining members who share our desire to solve Gaia's mysteries for the better of all Gaians.

The goal of G.I.T. is to solve and gather information on the mysteries of Gaia. We gather info, analyze it and give it back to the people of Gaia to keep them informed and for the better of Gaia.

We do this both as "real life" investigators, gathering information about updates and changes to the site, storyline updates and other interesting tidbits, and also through RPing, where we "play" the parts of members in the organization or of freinds, family, or even interesting strangers simply passing through.

Whether you want to help solve Gaia's mysteries with us, are seeking a place to become informed about things going on around the site, or want to be involved in some fun, Gaia-based RPing, GIT has something for you.

RP description of the GIT Lobby:

As you pass through the glass doors into the large building you see a very open room. On the left of the room is a lounge area with a few large chairs and couches around a TV. There are coffee tables in front of the couches and small end tables beside the chairs. Various magazines lie scattered on the tables for people relaxing in the lobby to read. On the right side of the room is a table with many pamphlets describing GIT. In these pamphlets you can learn about the services GIT offers, the layout of the publically accessable areas of the building, and information on how to join the organization.

In the center of the room is a large desk with a secretary standing behind it. Hanging above the desk is a large sign that has in large black letters the words Can We Help You?

Ryu turns back to Seth. He points to the four corners of the rooftop. "Those are pulse guns. The are hooked to your main computer. Any GIT crew member gives the word and they will fire on any moving thing they ask them to. These..." Ryu points to cages with birds in them. "These are messenger hawks in case you lose power and can't communicate with allies." Ryu points to two portals. "The blue one will take you to the GUA and the black one goes back and forth between the lobby. Finally..." Ryu points to a red lever. "This releases a curtain coating the GIT in an Anti-magic field."

~Building Defenses~

Lock down: All doors, windows, and hallways are closed off with 1 foot thick, heavy adamantium doors. In the center on both end walls is a red crystal which eminates a magic barrier that can block most magic.

There are anti air craft missiles and turrets situated around the building as well as heavy bullet turrets and missile launchers. They have never been used other than in testing. Hopefully, they never will be. They are hidden under pannels.

GIT has various types of vehicals availiable if need be and agents are equiped with standard weaponry for daily use. When the building is under attack they can arm themselves with more state of the art weapons.

GIT is equipped with standard fire alarms. Something slightly less standard is the veritable army of small robots that fix and clean things throughout the entire building. Kaos, the leader of GIT, is often making upgrades and introducing new technology and magic, so there may be changes to the building's appearance and capabilities in the future.

General Rules:

1. Follow the TOS at all times.

2. Bumping is not allowed. Stay and talk, RP, be silly, anything other than unnecessary bumping. This includes pointless posts but will be slightly less lenient(As occasionally I may post a random quote as a 'intro' to my entry to the page... for example)

3. Non-members are welcome in the thread, as long as they follow the rules.

4. No OOC drama. If you are having a problem with another person in the thread, take it somewhere else. This is "home" for many of us, and we don't want to deal with unecessary drama.

5. Three strikes and you're out. Failure to follow any thread rules will result in a warning. A second failure to comply will result in a second warning and land you on the Gray List, possibly a temp ban, depending on the behaviour. A third infraction will land you on the black list, meaning you are no longer welcome in the thread. Failure to respect this will get you banned from the thread permanently (through the ignore list) and reported for trolling/harassment.

6. We reserve the right to change or add to these rules at any time. We also reserve the right to skip the "three strikes" system if you are deemed to be a troll.

7. If you have a problem with another user present, or had been present, or even never present in this thread, there is no reason what so ever to 'call them out'. If you feel a warning must be given to others I want a PM. These types of posts are now being considered bumping and or spam and will be deleted.

8. No advertising, if you wish to advertise your thread, site, link, guild and nothing else(occasionally we all have something we wish to show others but its done in conversation not BAM! here it is, goodbye) you MUST contact me and ask to do so. Any accepted requests will be displayed on the first page for optimum viewing, not a random interruption in the thread.

RP Rules:

RPing is welcome here, In fact, we encourage it. If you choose to RP with us, simply follow the rules.

1. You do not have to be a member to RP here. Just remember that the rules still apply to non-members.

2. Expect both RP talk and OOC talk at the same time in here. This is fine. If you want to chat OOC while there is RPing taking place, please use (( )) or a similar system to indicate that. However, if there is currently no RPing taking place on a page, the OOC marks are not necessary.

3. All styles and races are welcome. Magic, technology, Elves, Spirits, Androids, Demons, plain old humans, anythingyou can imagine are acceptable as long as they are made to fit into the world of Gaia.

4. No God-modding, unless given permission by the other player. If an action is deemed to be God-modding, or any other form of cheating, it will be ignored.

5. RP fighting is allowed, however, you may not destroy the building. Small, fixable damage is allowed. Any major damage must be cleared with Elec or Kaos 1st.

6. You do not have to apply to RP in this thread. Simply come up with a character, give them a reason to be here and start interacting with whoever else is IC at the time.

7. For RP purposes, this thread represents the lobby of the GIT building. If you want to take the RP to any of the other publically accessible areas, go to the RP Guild, where the rest of the building is represented. This is also where you go if you would like to formally apply for an RP position as a member of the GIT staff.

8. Romance is allowed, indeed, tends to by rather common here. However, cybering in any form is never allowed.

9. You may have as many RPCs as you want. And think you can handle. xd

10. We accept all RP experience and skill levels, however, we do expect you to do your best. One liners and poor writing are usually not very fun for anyone. If you would like to have help improving your RP skills, ask our more experienced members. Many of us are willing to help or to point you in the right direction to go to find help.

Recruitment

Joining the organization:

G.I.T. doesn't accept just any Gaian, you must prove your worth. Our team needs to gather info, search through documents, spy, and dig up anything on anyone. When joining, you will first be interviewed. Afterwards you may or may not be accepted to the guild right away. Most likely you will have to provide some field work before becoming a member. Our HQ is also kept hidden until you have finished your work as a trainee. Before accepting we do background checks and interviews. To request joining, PM either Utterkaos or me.

Chaos at the Edge of Town- Investigate the strange land now at the edge of Dureem. It is know that it has something to do with the strange sightings and creatures that have sent a message to GIT.

Defense Against the Fair Ones- Raksha, Fair Folk, Fae, the legend all fairy come from have taken interest in GIT and are planning to complete the grand story by taking over and converting it into a freehold. A place with only story to guide its appearance but no true set look or place to it, where travel consists of completing events, to go from one way point to another. What can you do? We've discovered Iron to be a weakness, gather what you can, provide our scientists with information and tools to experiment with, and be ever watchful for when they do come.

Jobs(IC, OOCly you ought to know already):

Security: As a security guard your job is to be on the look out for suspicious entities in and around our building. With good reason you are to ask them to leave and if approved make them leave. You are also the first line of defense in the building, activating the security measures to keep the building and occupants safe.

Agents: An Agent can be many things but there are two main areas they must excel in at least one of; Intel gathering and quick thinking as well as combat skill. It is necessary for Agents to protect themselves or others and when out on the job may find it impossible not to kill to accomplish the mission.

Scientist: Your job is to inspect anything brought back to us and create/improve. From defense to offense and beyond. New weapons, new armors, new building defenses and even simple things to just make the building or building life easier. your job is to aid the rest of the building and to try and discover all you can from physical things brought back.

Researcher: Your job is to look into the info brought back to GIT, to look deeper in then just the words on text, to read between the lines.

Armed Force: Your job is for the protection of GIT and places of interest. It is unfortunately necessary for larger battles to take place at times and so it is necessary to have those trained in the art of war to fight for us. Most in this field take part in something else, since this is not needed often at all.

Diplomats: Your job is to interact with our allies and affiliates as well as recruit others. You use the power of words over fists, but this doesn't restrict you from doing so when necessary. You try to solve things without violence, to work out deals and agreements.

Other: Includes all non major categories, but does not mean they are any less important, simply not as well known or have as many people in them. For example, Chef, Entertainment such as Djing, Mechanic, ect.
