Come one come all! You are hereby cordially invited to join my zombie apocalypse guild. It is in need of literate active members who love killing zombies and forming new bonds.
It started out as rumor, spreading like wildfire through the social network. Sightings, videos and recordings. Some looked fake, others looked so real it was scary. Then one day the impossible became possible as the news anchors showed live footage of people eating people. There was blood everywhere, screams carrying on the wind like the leaves. The air was thick with the metallic smell of blood and the ground held a red haze to it that could hypnotize most.
At first it was slow, one or two incidents a day. Nothing to worry about right? There's no way the government would let it get that bad. The world can't fall just because of some unknown virus....could it? Yet slowly, as time progressed and the number increased, the inevitable had finally come to knock on our doorsteps, the sounds frightening and the wails enough to keep yo up at night, shaking with the fear that you could possibly be next to fall victim to the undead.
Within a month, most of the United states had been over run, with the possibility of a cure long out of reach. The CDC had been over run and no one smart enough to try to figure it out, was dumb enough to risk their life for the slim chance that the world could be saved. No, it was a lost cause and it was every man for himself. It was kill or be killed. It was a dog eat dog world now and if you weren't strong enough to hold your own, you became one of the fold when the dead came creeping up behind you.
With survivors coming in small groups of three or four, finding help was difficult. If you were lucky you made it to a camp on the verge of starvation. If you weren't so lucky, you were put out of your misery along the way. It seemed all hope was lost, that there was absolutely nothing we could do to save what was left of the population, if there was anything left to save. It seemed that once the government collapsed, anarchy began and never had an ending point. People began killing living people, just for the fun of it. There was no place safe. You had to keep a constant watch for both the living and the dead. You could trust no one. you could rely on no one but yourself. Sooner or later though, the loneliness was enough to drive a person mad.
In the world today, there is nothing left but rubble, decay, and death. The light is dying and soon it will fade to black before our eyes. Do you have what it takes to survive this new world, or will you become a victim of the dying light? Will your resolve shine through, or will your existence fade to black?
