Sticky: Updating the GAIA FAQ, can we use your resources?

Good day everyone,

As Gaia continues to grow, our FAQ / Help page needs to grow as well. The Gaia staff have started a project where we will be building a better, more complete FAQ / HELP system. Before we open it however, we want to make sure we have as much content as possible about Gaia ready to go.

We know the GG&R has many guides that can benefit the entire Gaia userbase and we would like to work on surfacing this information. For anyone with a thread in this forum, Gaia will be able to help show information from your guide to more people, we may not highlight any individuals who have brought together these threads, but may list your thread as a resource.

Before we do anything with this project in regards to any threads we may draw upon from this forum, we would like to hear your thoughts!

A couple things to note:

• At this time, we have not decided how/if we will be able to give credit to members who posted the information here in GGR first. We do believe you deserve some, but we do not know how. If you have a suggestion, please post it ^_^.
  
• If you would like to suggest a guide, you must be the thread owner. Please just post it in this thread along with a reason why you feel the information from your thread belongs in the FAQ.
  
• If you wish to say Gaia may NOT use your work in part or whole, please provide an link and make it clear in your post.
  
• All forms of guides will be allowed. From everything from text to youtube videos!
  
• Nothing is for certain at this point. This may never come to pass, but the Gaia Online staff wish to present the best customer support possible, and we feel this is a great direction to go.
  

This sticky is NOT the place to ask questions that do not regard the FAQ/Help being updated. Please use the correct forum to do so.

Please note also that where as everyone has created guides and we would like to work with you, Gaia reserves all rights to create any tutorials, Frequently Asked Questions, help sections, etc, for any and all features on Gaia. For anyone not wanting their material to be shared using their formatting and/or exact text, the same content may be entered in the FAQ/Help page with original text, despite covering the same subject.

UPDATE: Credit has been decided, we will have a "Credit" page were we will have all the people who helped out there ^_^.

I'd love to see a much better FAQ. I'm tired of finding my bookmarks on different guides on Gaia-related things.

It's going to be hard giving credit, as many times multiple threads pop up at once, and those threads are many times filled out as a group effort. I do not envy the task before you!
I do think it is a good idea dipping into the existing threads to format your new FAQ, since how else could you judge what is actually FA than by evidence? There are some really great ones out there and I know whenever I've got a question this is the place to be.
As one quick rule, though, it seems any time something is released with multiple options or items some people would rather see all available choices before spending their own gold and taking the risk.

At this time I'm looking for the duplicate posted here in this forum and will update this post accordingly. Not to mention, I do plan on recreating the guide to update it to include v2 codes and some more random information.

Don't bother cluttering a FAQ/Help section with credits (or links unless they are absolutely needed for that specific question/section)
