Auctioning things? Hmm, I usually don't since I'm a bit impatient but..

Well if you're auctioning an item, always put the starting bid at something you're willing to accept to begin with. It's a pain to have to cancel an auction because you think it's under-priced, and canceling it also annoys the people buying from you.

The longer you set your auction for the more exposure you'll get, but don't get discouraged if no one bids right away. Since the best way to snag an item is to wait until the last minute to bid, most people will do this.

If you're going to auction something, feel free to add an auto-buy. Auto-buys can be over-priced by a little bit (though try not to make it too much.) People are paying for the convenience and guarantee of getting it right away instead of waiting for the auction to end and risk not getting the item. Plus, having an auto-buy doesn't hurt anything, so you might as well just in case you get lucky and encounter an impatient person.
