Subforums for a Guild

Subforums are called subs by many captains and none captains. They cost you 2.5k each and can be used to seperate your guild into different portions. This is so your main forum dosnt get overflooded with threads that have nothing to do with each other.

Guild Account

The 'Guild Account' is your display of guild funds- gold gained through donations and join fees. This gold belongs ONLY to the guild, and as such, can not be removed by any of the members nor by any of the crew or Captain for any reason. Once deposited, this gold can be used to purchase new subforums for the price of 2.5k each. There is currently nothing else that this gold can be used for aside from bragging rights and adding ever so slightly to the resale value of the guild.

• Topics Moving/Deleting
  Some people report when moving or deleting topics, it doesn't do it immediately. This is lag based and the topic will take the action shortly.
  Make sure when 'moving' topics, don't try to delete the original copy as if it was a 'shadow' copy of sorts, as it will delete both.
  
  
• Homepage Centering
  Centering on the home page doesn't work properly due to something in the source of the page which isn't there (Got changed in the last layout modifications for Gaia pretty much).
  No real solid workarounds for this.
  
  
• Members List (Assort. Glitches)
  Two problems sorta linked together with GGN Memberlists in guilds.
  Sometimes members seem to disappear from the memberlist for no reason, and when searched using the Memberlist search, sometimes (not always though) the user will also show up as 'Non-Member'.
  Now if you give it a little while, this should resolve itself, but if it doesn't, in the long run you can always try having the member leave and re-join.
  
  
• Issues with Invites
  When it comes to invites, after an invite has been sent and the person has declined an invite or what not, you will have to wait a week or two before being able to send a new one.
  
  
• Deleting Threads
  Captains/Vice-Captains and Crew when they delete threads, the threads have a habit of sticking in the forum for a few minutes as due to lag they don't immediately 'Delete'
  
  
• Join Requests View
  The page that shows Join Requests is not paginated, so it only shows about 10-15 entries per page I believe it is. There can be more than that, but they don't show up until you accept/decline the other requests, and they'll show up one at a time as you go through them.
  
  
• Guild Stats
  Certain stats such as # of Users, Posts and such never decline (Say after you would do a full guild clean up of deleting all threads and kicking all members if you just sold the guild or something).
  
  
• Subforum Titles disappear
  There seems to be a problem with mostly captains, where if they make/edit subforums names, and go to create a topic in any of them, it removes the names of all subforums. To fix this, usually having another Vice-captain edit the subforum titles will keep it from happening.
  
  
• Duplicating Subforums
  Some users are reporting that when they purchase subforums, they are getting a duplicate one. For the most part, the best way to avoid this would be to make sure not to refresh the page after purchasing a subforum.

Arethic

• New Guilds Unaccessable
  Captains/Vice Captains are reporting their new guilds are unaccessable even after purchase, no known workarounds at this time, GGN Dev is aware.
  
  
• Purchasing Subforums
  There is currently a problem with purchasing subforums, as when captains/VC's try to, its not actually purchasing it. At this time its suggested to all those who have tried, to wait and see if they will be able to get granted later (as i'm sure there is a log of the attempts still), but just incase, no one should try to purchase anymore for the time being.
  
  
• More Invites Troubles
  As noted Within Here, there seem to be issues with Invites being sent out and such, as also noted in that thread, GGN Developer was made aware of the issue.

Arethic

Within this post will be a list of things not exactly defined as a glitch.

• Entry Fee's upon invites sent
  When an invite gets sent, it gets sent with whatever the entry fee at the time was. This isn't particularly classed as a glitch as it really isn't, so most you can make sure to do, is not have a super high entry fee at the time of sending or something of the such.
  
  
• Removed from CG when De-captain'd/VC'd
  When you are removed from a Captain (and Vicecaptain I believe its been noted), position you are automatically removed from the Captains Guild. This is not a glitch, this is how it was coded on the back end, and the CG can easily be re-joined from the home page.

Advertising

Advertising can be done many ways, affiliating, making a thread in the GGN(Gaia Guild Network), and having the guild link in your signature.

Affiliating is done by having someone post a link and information about your guild in there guild, thread, or sig. In exchange you will be advertising his guild/thread in the same manner.

Making a thread in the GGN is another way. Doing this you must provide a link to the guild, and information on the guild. You may only bump your thread ONCE every hour.

Putting the guild link in your signature preety much explains itself. You put the link to your guild in your signature, and post around the forums of gaia.

Moderators powers

There are four types of membrs in a guild. The Guild Captain (runs and owns the guild), Guild Vice Captain (runs the guilds and is there to take over if something happens to the captain.), Guild Crew (the most basic of moderators in a guild), and the Guild Member (can just post, no speacial mod powers).

The guild captain can:

• Transfer guild ownership
  
• Edit guilds subforums
  
• Change and edit posts
  
• demote guild mods
  
• Ban members
  
• Donate to the guild
  
• Make rules for the guild
  
• Change guild homepage, and guilds settings.
  
• Join the captains guild
  
• Make announcements and stickies.
  
• Promote new mods

The guild VC (vice captain) can:

• Do everything the guild captain can do EXCEPT demote themselves. So be carefull when picking a VC.

The crew member can:

• Accept new members
  
• Make announcements and stickies
  
• Edit posts in the guild

The member can:

• Make posts and threads in the guild.

Deleting/moving/locking thread

In each thread there are controls at the bottom:

This button allows you to move the thread into a different subforum

This button allows you to lock a thread so that only crew and above may post in it

This unlocks a thread

This deletes the entire thread (I believe it has been stated that there will never be a way to delete all threads in a guild, each must be done individually)

As for members, to change the status of a member: (each member's status must be changed individually, I believe it has been stated that there will never be a way to ban all members)
At the top of the guild page appears.

If you are Crew, Vice Captain, or Captain you can do the following:
Demote members or Ban members

Additionally, VC and C can:
Promote members to any status EXCEPT Captain

To reiterate: THERE IS NO WAY TO DELETE ALL THREADS/POSTS/MEMBERS IN ONE FELL SWOOP, it must be done individually

How to join a guild

You join a guild by going to the guild home page and clicking the Join button.

After you join a guild you will have access to all the guilds threads and subforums. (except the ones set to crew only)

Be sure you read the front page of the guild for captains will sometimes put questions you must answer before being accepted my a guild mod.
