I will post something else for help with furniture images when I figure out how I want to deal with them.

Welcome to the thread for my newest project, a simulator for Gaia's housing system. If you aren't already familiar with my work or don't recognize my name, I'm the person behind the Gaia Avatar Simulator (GAvSim), Gaia's first avatar simulation/preview program (it began in mid to late July of 2003).

The housing sim will be pretty primitive to start with, but I'll be continuing to improve the code as time passes to make it more and more accurate. One such improvement will be exact positioning of objects within the room.

This project has full approval from the four original admins (Lanzer, VO, L0cke, and Ling), I asked for their permission after the panel at Anime Expo 2005.

I realize that housing is nearly a year really freaking old now, I've actually been working on this on and off since a week or two after the initial release. It hasn't been until recently that I've figured out how I want everything done.

* Make it remember what menu item was selected when changing slots
* Unavailable choices are marked as such, along with a message box below for browsers that do not support the CSS for changing the color of the menu items
* Browser cookie for saving object layout

* Wall pattern selector
* Floor pattern selector
* Precise grid-based movement
(For the pattern selectors, I need to devise a way to limit the number of pattern choices based on the tile selected. Not all tiles have 5 patterns available to use.)

This is a LOT easier than submitting things to the GAvSim, thank goodness. <3

All you have to do is place the object I still need images for in your house, then post here telling me about it. If you wanna be real cool, you can include a link to your house. I can get the link myself, but putting it there for me makes things go a bit faster. :3 I'll let you know via PM once I've got it, so you can take it out if you don't want it to stay in your house.

Yes, sometimes I end up buying things in order to collect their images. With the case of the housing simulator, this tends to be wall and floor tiles.

This is merely to keep track of how much I end up spending on it, I'm not asking for donations (although they are accepted).
