I do this anyway, but your guide just gave me some good tips, thanks =)

I'm glad you found some new information. If you'd like to share anything you think I might have missed, please feel free to post your suggestions.

I made my first 50k when Mimzy came out. Event weekends provide one of the best ways to make gold fast.

I have to disagree. If you pick an item and watch in carefully, refreshing the marketplace search screen every 5-10 seconds. You will find bargains. Try looking at the "Large Easter Egg." Right now you'll find the common market price around 400g, but at least once every two minutes, someone lists one of these items for 300g or less. You grab the lower priced item, sell it for 399g, and you make a 99g profit. Do that 10 times, and you have made 990g -- in about twenty minutes.

Now if you do the same thing with all the easter event items, you can find bargains just about as fast as you can buy them, and you keep selling them. If you average 100g per trade and make 4 trades every 2 minutes, in 20 minutes you'll have 4,000g more than went you started. And you don't have to stop at 20 minutes. Sales do slow down a bit at night, but you can still work the system any time of day.

If you want to try your chances with a lottery, you can find several at any given time in the Chatterbox section of the Gaia Forums.

Wow, that is very helpful advice! I shall definitely link people to your thread; I know of a few questers, and I am always trying to buy gifts for my friends on Gaia, too. Thank you so much for making this guide! heart

Wonderful! Thanks for making an awesome guide, I'm trying to get an Ancient Katana myself.

One suggestion though, I personally wouldn't keep a ledger because gaia already does that for you. Just hit the log button under your avi in your store.
However, I can see keeping a ledger for items bought in the exchange forum. Cool guide though, best I've seen so far.

If you don't do much trading, then you can rely on the transaction log associated with your store, but if you do a lot of trading, items often roll off the bottom of the list before you have put the item up for sale. The transaction log only lists your most recent 100 transactions. The marketplace log includes bids on other selllers' items (whether you win the item or not), items you won or purchased, items you listed for sale, items you canceled, and items that sold. So if you buy 30 items, put the items up for sale, and successfully sell all the items, you would have filled 90 lines of the transaction log. If you do any bidding or if you have to cancel and relist any items, you will quickly have items roll off your transaction log. I often buy and sell 50 to 100 items per day, so I cannot rely on the transaction log for this information.

For me, having a spreadsheet of the items I have bought and sold for the day provides a lot of information. It shows purchase price so I can choose a profitable selling price, price trends through my trading period, average profit per item, and my percent return on each item. I can also look back over the past several days and see which items really moved quickly and others that sort of stagnated.
You know, I never thought I could be an exchanger but reading your guide really made me feel like I could do it, especially with the suggestion of keeping a ledger, which would remind me how much I'm making.

I haven't made much gold yet (250ish gold in 10 minutes) - I'm starting off with small Market Place buys and resells until I get the hang of it. Your guide really made me realize how simple it is if I put in some time.
