I'm making another sig. and I'm not sure what i'm doing wrong. When I try to edit the map.php and I save, it becomes like map.php.txt.
ow, blame it on microsoft. whee

Most webhosts allow you to make files /in/ their site, there you can easily save it as .php And then you just copy&paste the rest of the code from the original file on your computer.
Just delete the .txt off the end of the filename. It should be fine. In Notepad, when you Save As, even if you type a file extention, it usually adds ".txt" after whatever you type (unless you type ".txt" as the file extention). What I do is Save As, then chnage the "Save as Type" from "Text Document\" to "All Files". That usually prevents it from adding ".txt".

I think there's a sentence in the walkthrough about making sure it saves as .php and not some other file extension. I should maybe add an FAQ about it or make it clearer some other way.
Here is the link to the files:

Ok...so I'm going to assume that you renamed your "map.php" file as "imagemap2.php". Is this correct?

If so, then the problem is probably in that you failed to upload the "imagemap.php" file that is found in the image_mapper_0.2.zip file. You need to upload the "imagemap.php" file into the same folder as the "map.php" (or what you have called "imagemap2.php" wink .

This is all in the walkthrough. I suggest that you follow it strictly before starting to change things like the filenames of the files.

Hmm...here's a question. When I try to upload a second image map to my host, it links it to the same URL as my first image map.....thus resulting in my second one not working. Could it just be the host?
The way I did it was to divide all different sigmaps in different folders, so there would be no conflicts. . . It was just be certain, I dont know if it actually makes a difference.
Ok, so you're saying that it worked for you?
I'm using hostinganime and the only thing there is "create a new file," but isn't that the same as if I were to just upload another map?

Nevermind, I found it....I'll try it right now.
Ok, let's try this:

<center><img src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v340/vu-ja-de/site.bmp" ismap border="0" /></center>

Nope, it's not working....I don't remember how to get the URL for it.....and apparently the two I tried don't work....
Here's the code for the image:
<center><img src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v340/vu-ja-de/site.bmp" ismap border="0" /></center>
I also tried switching darkwell out with "mymap" because that's the folder it's in.

Nevermind!! I had to put them both together...duh. sweatdrop

ERROR 404 - File not found

Aah! That is so cool!! n______n
Thank you!! (And thanks to Jakobo, too!)
Oh, and Boro, .txt isn't added if, your using notepad, and you save, select all files, and add .php, if you leave it as a .txt, I don't think it works like it should. sweatdrop
