Gaia Trash Guide FAQ

How do I get trash?
You can get trash by collecting it in towns.

Okay, I'm in towns. How do I pick up trash?
You can pick up trash by simply walking your avatar over to it and clicking on it.

I collected trash in towns but I'm not finding it in my inventory. What's going on?
Once you pick up the trash, in order to get it into your inventory you must click on the backpack icon that says "ITEMS" on the bottom of the window. There you will see all the items you have collected. Click on the robot and a dialogue box will pop up asking you if you would like to put those items in your inventory. Click "YES."

Is there any way for me to collect trash quicker?
Sure! You can get trash from other users. You can find sellers, or post a 'Wanted' thread in The Gaia Exchange (make sure you have a trading pass first!), or you can buy trash in the Gaia Marketplace.

Okay, I have a lot of trash. Now how do I get those neat-looking hats?
You need to take a visit to the Gambino Hat Rack shop in Isle de Gambino. Once you're there, you'll see that under the buttons "TALK TO RUBY" and "TALK TO PEYO" there is a button entitled "EXCHANGE TRASH." Or, you can just click here to go straight to it. You can see the amounts of trash you need for each hat in the post below.
Important Information You Need To Know

Trash has no sell-back value.
All trash found on Gaia (with the minor exception of old cans, boots, tires) is worth 0g. This means that if you go to any of the shops on Gaia you can not sell it back for any gold whatsoever. Trash is only worth the amount of gold that another user is willing to pay for it. Users are likely to be willing to pay 1g or less per piece of trash. Trash can be sold to, and bought from, other users through the Marketplace (The seller will recieve 2% less than the selling price as a fee for using the marketplace) or traded with other users through The Gaia Exchange (trading pass needed).

thank you for this... and for the pictures of what they look like.
Thank you! This really has helped a lot becasue i kept thinking something was wrong when i went to trade trash and nothing happened. Do you know if there are similar guides for flowers or bugs?
You may want to add that you can also sell your trash in the Marketplace and Games Exchange subforum.
Thank you SO much!

This guide was very helpful to me in figuring out what to do with all the trash I have been collecting! biggrin
um, how can you have 1000 or even 5000 of an item if there are only 3 digit spots?
very important info
