Question. I have a user who is constantly trying to take over my account. In my log in, PMs, and when I want to change something in my preferences, the username box always automatically changes to a green color and then says "trade to 'insert username'" in some cases, they will try switching the password as well, extremely limiting my activity on this site because I do not want to lose my account. I have asked the person to stop. It's been an on-going thing for at least a year. I added them to my ignored list, but the problem persists. I don't know what to do because they have not successfully taken over my account or managed to take any of my things. Please help so I can actually enjoy myself on this site and not have to worry every time I click a button.

chances are you have some sort of malware on your computer, you will have to find it and remove it.

as for the user, if you know who it is you can at least report them for harassment.

This is by far the best guide I've ever read on Gaia. I've known all of these things for a long time, but for someone new to the site this thread contains valuable information. It would be cool if Gaia provided a link to this tread to newbies upon joining the site.
