Ha. Pretty much anything that requests your password is a scam.

You cannot get any viruses from Gaia Online, and programs cannot be applied to Gaia Online in such a manner.

What do you mean by brute force?

that's a very common scam, in the scam examples section you'll find one just like it under "special occassion scams".

password guessing/ cracking programs aren't triggered by anything. they're run on the hackers computer. here is a little more info. some of these programs have to be run on the computer you used so be aware of this when using public computers. be sure to log out and clear your cache and cookies.

brute force attacks are not very common on gaia because it's easier to just ask people what their password is. if the userbase was less willing to give out personal info brute force attacks would become more common. having a safe password makes it more difficult to guess the password. be sure to use a password of at least 8 characters consisting of capital and lower case letters, numbers and special (!@#$...) characters (one of the 96 possible character ones at the bottom of the page). in addition to those you have to worry about keyloggers.

keyloggers are programs that log your keystrokes and mouse clicks, to defend against those make sure to have anti-virus up to date and running on your computer. there are also special programs you can download to sniff out and remove keyloggers. if you do discover a keylogger on your computer make sure to contact your bank and have a stop put on all your credit cards and debit cards. your bank account info and social security number are often the real target of keyloggers.

Can you tell me any decent keylogger remover free to be downloaded? I've found only "I hate keyloggers" free, but I'm not sure if it's good to be trusted. ( yes, there is always the mule, but I would prefer to avoid to steal the work of other people, if I can ).

i don't know of any, since i don't own one but it's always a good idea to search for reviews of the product before downloading it.

i got a pm awhile ago thats why i was interested i also had clicked a link and they stole my cookies but i found out and changed my pw and deleted all of my cache and cookies

I just got a PM from some random person. It seems like a link to a youtube vid but its not. Its a phisting site call gaiaunline. I hope they didnt hack into me that way but i closed the window and logged out and changed it once i logged back onto gaiaonline. not gaiaunline. lol
