I feel this kind of information should be in the introduction process for someone signing up for Gaia.

In anycase, I just got my first scammer e-mail only moments ago. I thought of this guide and decided to take a screen shot. I doubt you need anymore examples, but just in case I'll send the image along. It's rather big, so forgive me if I stretch the page.

I got this one PM one day.
It was the most well developed message trying to scam/hack that I had ever got.
I freaked for a little while, then was like, waiiiiit a second, -kick-.
-takes screenshot and uploads to photobucket...-
I appologize for any page stretching, the PM was quite wide and any smaller it would be unable to be read.

OOOOooo wow. I got one once but all it said was. You will be banned for yadda yadda yadda...... plz state username and password. but that was like a few months ago. I reported the PM though. his user was [ Net Warning ].

Here's a tip, if you find you got a keylogger on your computer.

Find a random word anywhere on the net/your computer, and copy/paste it to become your new password. If you use copy/paste, a keylogger cannot detect it. [Make sure you can remember the word.]

Then, log off, disconnect from the internet, and run a full virus and spyware scan.

Log back into your account, and change your password again.

Oh my god, ANOTHER one! Everyone, beware of XSOHRABX! He's a dumbass... he even used word-for-word one of the scams given in the examples in this thread.

Do you know of any free virus removers, I think I got one by taking my cookies down for a moment. That spyware doctor just told me I got spyware and virus, I need to buy the full thing to get rid of it.

I think trying to avoid being hacked is not enough there should be a system for it. When you play "Ragnarok", Pangya and other online games they usually has a security system which helps people to be secured from being hacked
