it pretty good though you should include more about balance and colors. you should talk about which colors look good with each other and which dont and how to match colors. If you add some more details and retouching to your guide would be pretty good biggrin

edit: you should also add stuff about how to make your avatar make sense, instead of just have a bunch off stuff on your avi.

Next, I'd love to talk further on this with you to fine tune what needs to be done.

I thought my whole guide was about balance and colors. x.x Apparently I haven't gotten that across. ^^;;

I have a section where I just mentioned that mixing and matching different colors is good. It first had a suggestion as to what colors to use together. I know that certain colors do look better together than other colors. However, if the colors chosen are evenly balanced around the avatar, it usually looks good. I've seen the oddest colors paired together that actually look okay. I think the colors you choose doesn't matter as long as you stick to the same shade.

As far as using the same shade of color, do you really think I have to walk people more through recognising what items are the same color?


And... when you say adding more details, you don't think that would be detrimental to the guide? I know there is so much more I could talk on about, but I wanted to hit the highlights. I figured people would get turned off by having to read a lot.


Annndd... there is a fine line with that topic in your edit. ^^;;;
I don't believe that all avatars need a "theme" or "story" attached to them. Many avatars are superb and their only "theme" is color matching and balance.
I'm also one of those who believe that you can throw on a magician's wand to help balance your avatar and it won't make your avatar a magician. It's just an item.
I agree with what you're saying... sometimes it is just too much. I tried to address this in the cluttered avi section.

It sucks guys can't wear things like daisy's gloves. These gloves add a little [orange as I remember] & it makes avis way cooler because they have a touch of [orange as I remember rolleyes ] xd

XD I wouldn't worry about it, you have to be creative dodging some rules isn't going to be bad. heck I do it all the time XD;;
