Hey, i don't know if you can help me, but basically firefox isn't working for me.

first i updated from firefox 1.50 or something to the latest version, then i installed the gaia bar from tektek and it asked me to restart firefox, so i closed it and then opened it and all it says is 'firefox.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience' every time! can you help me?

Might try reinstalling FireFox/TekTek toolbar if that doesn't work. Although I don't see how you'd reinstall the TekTek toolbar without being able to get on FireFox...but yeah.

When stuff like that happens to me I always try to do a system restore (if you have Windows you may want to check on your Q&A panel for Restore points) and then I run a virus scan. You'll want to run a virus scan anyways.
