DUDE thanx soooo much i had 20k and now i got my mythrill halo in one day when i get loaded like a rich ----- i will totally think of you

Congrats. And the nice thing is any gold you make stays with you. Unless you donate an item or gold your worth never drops, since you just changed your gold into an item--one that's actually pretty stable and popular.

I wish you the best and feel free to refer some friends :]

Fashionable Millionaire

Hopefully you remeber me sweatdrop
Anyways I came in here to ask you a question about Chance items. Even though you say buying some is a lil "risky" I would like to invests in like 3-5 chance items and hoard them. Right now I'm trying to get the Double Rainbow and a wing item(I forgot the name of it, its like a red wings that chances into a wing crown of some sort ,chestplate, sword and something else)

I went to a diffrent Millionaire Guide(Hopefully I didn't betray you lol)
And the user said it is reccomended these items will be a profit in a couple of months and is better to hoard them

What do you think? Should I buy or walk away?

While the price of the Rig itself may rise after they are taken from the shop, it is unlikely that the items from the rig will increase dramatically.

Buying dolls is never really a good idea. As a general rule, they don't sell often.
Basically your only options are to either
a. Wait it out on the MP
b. cut your losses and sell them on the exchange (people only bid like 70% LMP on dolls because they are notoriously hard to sell)

OP
I've been toying with the idea of buying EIs while they are in an ugly evo, and then selling them when they hit a more appealing one.
And the repeating the process with a newer gen.
How risky is this?

I've got about 1k Gcash from offers and such, and I want to spend it on items that will get me the most gold. (obviously)

I was thinking about getting the Double Rainbow bundle since the items look cool, which probably isn't a good reason. I can't find any decent info about them, so I don't know what the items are called or if they'd sell well. Is it better to open them to see if I want an item I'd like or sell them unopened and then just buy what I want? Also, when you open them, is there an actual game that determines what item you get, or do you just randomly and immediately get an item? I have kind of a laggy computer, so a game might not be good for me.

Are RIGs just a bad idea? Should I go with something else?

So many questions! I'm sorry! I'm still technically a noob to Gaia and the Marketplace since I left three years ago with about nothing done. :3

Hi OP again. Just wondering, why do people try to sell in the exchange when it seems very difficult to get people to buy at a favoring rate? Is there a profiting method in mind for selling in the exchange? I have friends who are apparently good at vending/exchanging yet they sell their items in EX and they'll complain about it. o.o I find pretty it mind boggling. Also based on the MP chart and the Sales Volume chart, how might one read it properly to know if an item is good to try out? Thanks for your help again! whee

People typically sell in exchange because of a few reasons, a number based on myths.

  • Exchangers are more common to run into botted gold, and it is more commonly found in the vend simply because you buy or sell. Most care about their bottom line and it's little difference to who buys their item.

  • If you do happened to get suspected of botted gold simply show proof that you're an honest person on Gaia and that you simply have a high flow of gold going in and out of your account and wouldn't risk all of it on profiting on one item. Show proof of your vending logs and account history and you should be good.

  • The myth that there is no botted gold in the exchange fourm-- which you can guess is false.

  • Forgoing the 2% tax. Some people would rather sell the item for 1k and get back 1k, rather then take a 2% loss on the item for being able to sell it in the vend. As the item's value increases the percent taken off is larger and larger-- a reason why high priced items are rarely found in the vend.

  • Making fourm presence. If you're known in the area you may get a better deal but it's unlikely. If your avi is dressed in peasant clothes and you're selling amazing items and actually go though with them they'll be more understanding that you actually do have the right amount.

  • Some want to simply sell the item quickly. If you're selling an item that is new or rare the exchange actually is the better place to place it on auction!

As for reading the sales and volume chart it's relatively easy. See what scale the volume is on and notice some trends. If the item seems to only sell one a day and it has that general trend, and the price chart jumps all over the place... that item is NOT a good choice.

On the other hand, if there is a good number of items sold constantly and there is a obvious pattern to the price [Basically not just random prices daily] then it's a much safer bet.

Speaking generally, The greater number sold the more stable the item is. You selling it for 500g off the lowest price isn't going to send the value of the item in a downspin. If two people buy them up there won't be some 600k increase in the item. The price you see is the price you'll get.

Thanks! Also, I'm thinking of trying out those "Buying with X millions" threads in the Wanted forum. I had a friend tell me it's more easier to do that but purchase around the EX. I expect the same exchanging/vend tactics apply to those. Are there any exclusive tips for these these threads?

Keep an open tab with the vend price and ask everyone to send labeled trades.

If they're taking their item to one of those threads it's likely they'll settle with a lower amount.

You're going to get a lot of offers on items that you just don't want. You could write a half page of items you don't want or think of all the horrible item choices people give you as bumps.

It's quite likely that people are going to be trying to sell half their invo in a trade so try to negotiate an item at half off or better yet free.

If you're buying with say 7 million and somebody tries to get you to buy an item at 6.8 million, normally 7 million, think about it and the risks involved. The more the item is, the higher the 2% tax, and the harder it is to sell really. It may be better to get smaller items and make a larger profit percentage then to gamble it all on an item or two.

Actually I only have about 4mill on me. So should I look and bid for items less an a million to stay safe? The items I probably don't want are hard-to-sells? I was thinking that I can offer extremely low on those and wait till they eventually sell. Should I stick to bidding 90% or bid lower since people are looking for gold fast? Um, I don't quite understand your 3rd sentence, can you clarify that one if possible?

That is more than enough to make a good profit. A million or under is pretty good bet unless you find something which you see something amazing. You might want to offer around 75% starting and raise till about 90 in wanted threads. I've seen lowball offers of half working though.

And people will come to you with casino commons, gold trunk items, fish, trash, zomg items, rings, etc-- all stuff that you'll politely say "no thank you" to.
