You know honestly it used to be the best way and most secure way to make gold but there are more viable options. However, it's still worth it since if you pick up two letters now and sell them in about 4 days following pretty much every month before this, it should make you some gold. Not saying it's as drastic as before but still a good option.

The items explicitly mentioned may not as be as awesome as they were then, but there are plenty of guides who actually give you good forecasts on what to get. I'm leaning a bit more to the method of how to do thing rather than attempting to give you a step by step. Teh Hoarding guild actually does something like this and from years of experience pretty much always gets things right but they all assume that you already know how to vend, attempt bulk discounts, and negotiate effectively. The items will change with the times, but the strategies will not. As you progress, it often gives you zero-sum-gain opportunities, especially in the regard to RIGs when they first come out. Your options are then more in your own hands than ever -- attempt to play it safe and sell stable items, or throw it on red and go for more of a risk.
