Does Jigsaw still give items?

So I seem to recall Jigsaw giving items on occasion. I think it was only from completing certain puzzles.
Last time I played was back in like 2008, but I noticed that the old puzzles are still there.
Do they still give items?

lol, I am looking for that answer as well. I went through 6 puzzles with no purple circles in them. I will keep looking and let you know what I find out.
