well cause driftwood is a magical tree branch when combined with golden items and fairy wings creates a magical rod of the angels

NONE of this is anything more than what I think might be happening based on the fact that all the new fishing items required more than just fish AND they added a new junk (driftwood) but currently it is not used to make any item.

And then when it comes out and we discover that it is NOT what people think/expect (come on. You know they will when the rumor mill spreads far enough), they get pissed off and start ranting.

I think I clearly pointed out that the comment I made was just my opinion based on 2 things, if my opinion on a possible outcome of the future starts a rumour so be it, it is still my opinion of what might happen, for all we know its gonna be a CASH ONLY item from logans shop.... it might also just be one of the things in Jan 2011 envelope... noone knows, but my opinion of what driftwood MIGHT be used for hasnt changed

There is no need to speculate about if there is going to be a use, because there isn't a current one

Because if you speculate and it turns out you're wrong, you might be mad at yourself.

There was no 'bringing up hopes' and I'm sure as hell not going to stop speculating if I can see a potential future for an item. The only way someone is going to take this as "this is going to happen" is through a lack of reading comprehension, and if they get pissed because they expected something that they were misreading into, that's all on them.

Besides, if someone gets pissed and rants that driftwood =/= angelic rod, I'm just going to laugh at the stupidity. No harm, no foul, and no need for prevention. smile

Er....it's fun to speculate a bit.....just for fun biggrin I was also mentioning it in case it might get forgotten about, as some things like that do smile Since it's a very common piece of junk, I don't expect anything mind-blowing, but since the item hasn't been made yet (probably) maybe we could suggest something.
What would you make with a pile of driftwood? A raft? A very big fire?......for cooking the fish xd

I'd rather have a peg leg, equipable fishing rod or a hobo cane than a raft.... I dont even know how one would equip a raft, lol unless it was a car for rallying xd

The Update in reference was a "hope" not a rumor .. that began before I came to Gaia:
