When i said oa fishing i didnt mean PI buffing or megafiltering that some fishers do for fun when there is no serious or visable competition on the overall scoreboard. i actually meant the rod for someone going for an overall trophy and fishing in that particular lake. sure distance rod in 50 buckets will catch slightly higher quality fish because of the slightly longer range but i believe that the speed increase performance gives you makes it a better pick. but they are so close in stats that i guess it doesn't really matter in the long run since it's such a small variable... i mean just fishing an extra hour or two more than the enemy fisher would negate the difference.
i tested shortcasting a lot with angelic when i did junk gold and silver in gamibino and it was fast but slightly inpracticale because you have to train yourself to cast halfway all the time. I found that in basic and angelic could fish 500+ junk points an hour i wanted, but basic had smaller lines which made snap filtering that fraction of a second faster and fish movements stood out more. again, the difference is so small that it doesn't really matter unless you are in a neck and neck battle for first. usually when that happened i'd do more hours and burn them out and stack a 4 day lead on.
You could use whatever rod you want. based of cost or range or even something as arbitrary colour but i still think that some rods beat others hands down and other comparisons there are so many variables to decide the better rod it almost isnt even worth the thought. sometimes it's better to think practically, other times more theoretically. the game is very luck based after all >.< i partially agree with you i guess. i still think there is a best rod for every job. if you used distance against me in a fight for durem 1st and we both had 12 hours a day to fish distance would lose by a large margain i think. because in durem speed is more important than fish quality but if we went to bassken were it is the opposite strength would get it's butt kicked xD ive just always used a little datasheet that was given to me when i started that tells you the best mathematical "range" in which score and speed are balanced in a most ideal way. sigma's math and generator is where i get most my data. his numbers say 95ft is the optinal cast range for A bait filtered so i figured PRP was the situational best pick for the job since the range is closest. you could also shortcast slightly on angelic and get the same thing though.. then again, maybe you have a strong hate for the colour green so that rod is a terrible idea. or maybe that curve in the middle is a deal breaker. Maybe you like the lines of strength plus even though you are fishing for stripers dont even care. Maybe you'll use angelic for everything because it's just so pretty omg. all preference. srry for the wall of text

Except that the PRP isn't any faster than the normal Distance. They cast exactly the same length. Any perception that one is faster than the other there is erroneous. I referred to the DRP because the extra 10ft. of casting distance allows for more time in the large and medium zones, and in Bass'ken the number of medium and large fish matters significantly more.
Regarding the impracticality of the Angelic, well, I noted that in my post. If you're going to cast 75ft. out consistently, using the SRP makes it easier to do on autopilot. As for all of the other stuff regarding competition, that's kind of moot. You can't burn someone else out if they have as much time and willpower as you, and really, competition is generally besides the point in rod questions like this. Though I do get why you brought it up to an extent.
Yes, I'd agree that some rods are better equipped for some tasks inherently, but there's also the fact that your own preferences come into play. Like I noted above, the PRP and normal Distance have the same cast distance. At that point, the only thing that matters is which set of lines you prefer to use.
Regarding all the stats on A bait filtering, if 95 is the optimal, then DRP or Angelic are the optimal rods, as you can only get up to 90ft. with any other rod.
Finally, in your last few lines, you hit on exactly the point I was trying to make: Preference also dictates what works for you. If the awkward lines of the Performance rods is a deal breaker, you use Distance (usually, there are always exceptions), and so on. The point was that while some rods are usually better than others, preference and play style will also come into play.
i guess i should have put distance+ instead of distance that's what i meant sorry. I should have said DRP too derp >.< my comparison was DRP to PRP not regular unupgraded distance to performance plus. THOSE TWO are the same of course.
most of what i said was in a competition mindset because i spent hundreds of hours there. but its kinda moot you're right i doubt she is not going anywhere near that far into it. competition or casual is yet another variable. on the side usually when i fished it was summer against people with just as much free time as me. they lost because i would use tuned strategy and combine it with ridiculous hours. only ever failed once, but that was because he really could match my hours and actually copied my rod and stratagy by asking my friends
mad and i didnt feel like having to go passed 900,000 in gambino for a trophy i could win the next month for half the points. also, i wonder if there is a way to measure willpower...
jeez i could have sworn that the cast range for PRP was 95 not 90. you're right there then i guess since your guide is the only place with those numbers so i must accept as facts. I thought it went 80 up to 95. that makes sense more sense now. if that's true then i guess the whole time i was using performance in bassken i was doing it all wrong
emo my brother told me PRP was 95ft >_> LIES. then again, 5 feet? really? probably not going to be a visable difference or worth using a rod that you want to run over with a truck because the lines are so curved well anyways thanks for the info.
