they are carpenter bee's, they don't sting though, but damn can they bite

That's not so bad then. For some reason I am only afraid of bees that sting. My paranoid mind thinks the bee is going to dive bomb me or something >.<

carpenter bee's totally dive bomb you, if not they hover inches away from your face to "look" at you. like your head is down in the garden, you hear a buzzing, you pick your head up and then there is a bee, like an inch from your nose.

they don't exactly attack you though, they bludgeon any other carpenter bee's as a defense/ recognition thing near their nest, but when it comes to us, they just make us duck like we are being fired upon. xd

but they can find their way into the structure of your home, take care of it before it gets too bad.
