Over 11,000 poll votes, dozens of Gaians, and hundreds of names honored on the Yellow Wall later, TDM 2k9 is finally over. This has been one amazing month, thanks to all of you.
I hope to see all of you next year! If you haven't done it already, add TDM Event Mule as a friend in order to add yourself to the TDM Mailing list. People on the mailing list will be notified when TDM 2k10 is about to happen!
Also, if you want to hang out with all your friends from the Movement in the off season, come to the Demon Wings|Angel Heart Charity. We'd love to hang out with you.^^
This is a cancer awareness movement originally brought to Gaia in support of Long Vo (aka VO, art director and admin here on Gaia) whose father died from cancer April 9th, 2006.
The Daffodil Movement is usually held through the month of April. Traditionally during the event, users equip a daffodil bouquet on their avi to show support. The yellow daffodil is a symbol of renewal and hope, chosen by the American Cancer Society as an icon for the fight against cancer.
Last year was my first time ever managing this type of thread (and it shows…) due to disorganization and general hastiness, it didn’t turn out nearly as well as I had hoped. This year, though, I’ve done my research and planning well in advance, and I’ve also cooked up some fun new ways to get people involved. whee
