My work computer often takes 15-25 minutes just to wake up.

So I was reading my new pony bible Elements of Harmony book and I learned that Zecora was supposed to play a bigger role in the series. She was going to be Twilight's second mentor, to give her advice and help her along the way when Celestia was unavailable. She even had a large part in the first two episodes of the the first season, but they cut that out due to time restraints and decided to introduce her later on.

That does make sense. She's really smart and helps out a lot....not that I'm a Zecora fanatic. She also helps Twilight look at things in a way she normally wouldn't.
