so somebody told my nieces that there are "boy's shows" and "girl's shows" and that means they can't watch "Jake and the Neverland Pirates"

I don't know who it was. I don't know what they want. If they're looking for ransom, I can tell them I don't have money... but what I do have are a very particular set of skills. Skills I have acquired over a very long career. Skills that make me a nightmare for people like them.

If they stop corrupting my nieces with outdated gender roles now, that will be the end of it - I will not look for them, I will not pursue them... but if they don't, I will look for them, I will find them... and I will give them a loooooong lecture about feminism.

Hahaha, this guy is great! "Hey, these look like the lights in my bedroom.... Oh god don't say thaaat" xDDD

And yeah, I'm pretty sure they still do that. I wish they'd just categorize them by whatever series they're for, like you can pick My Little Pony or Spiderman, etc. That way you don't have any disappointed kids who didn't get the one they wanted just because of their gender.

Number one thing I hate about catching up with a manga: devouring the new chapter the day it is released in under 10 mins and then having to wait another week for the cliff hanger to be resolved.

In other news, I'm watching Digimon in Japanese for the first time. It's kind of weird, and Augumons voice annoys the hell out of me. The main difference is the lack of corny jokes (that I'm sure I found hilarious as a kid) and Mimi doesn't mention going to the mall or shopping every episode.

Yeah, Digimon Adventure in Japanese is really different from the English version! I think Agumon's voice is cute, but it is a bit wince-inducingly raspy. Somebody get the dinosaur a lozenge! Have you heard the Japanese version of Guimon in Digimon Tamers, though? Soooo cuuuute!

I feel like the Japanese version is much more serious all around. Wait until you get to Puppetmon, he is genuinely creepy as helllll .__. I'm pretty sure they cut his gun-crazy out of the English version.
