=D I got my part! NOTHING! I've been wanting that part ever since Avenue Q ended. Hopefully I get to keep this part. *looks at Shelli and Arq*

Last night, something amazing happened.

A handful of people didn't show up to rehearsal.

...and we still had enough people there for two people to sit out.

That hasn't happened since Rent!

Speaking of last night's rehearsal, it went veeery well. I sat out of the whole thing and I had pretty much nothing to say in the way of direction or changes, it's only the first rehearsal and people seem to be getting settled in their roles. Actor of the night is definately Patta, who not only, being our only Glinda, has a hell of a lot of lines, but didn't miss a line despite spilling cold soda all over himself in the middle of Popular. xd

As for the Wicked book, I have no interest in reading it myself. No one I've met who's read it seemed to particularly care for it. But, at least the Wicked fans try to read their musical's book while it seems like half the Phantom of the Opera fans don't know that there IS a book, let alone have read a good translation of it.

Good. I still feel bad for missing it, but I'll be there on Fridays! And yay for Patta!

My friend had to read it and write an essay on it for part of her application into a college and she seemed to like it but when I asked her about it she had only read a few chapters.

I dunno, we'll see after Christmas. I still need to finish reading Riding in Cars with Boys. sweatdrop

DUDE! TOTALLY not true. It's the POTO movie fans who don't know the book exists. Trust me. I am a hardcore phan (in fact it's the one musical that beats Wicked) and Leroux's novel is one of my very favorite books. If you hit fanfiction.net and look up POTO, there's a ton of book based stuff. The REAL phans can not only sing every song by heart, but can also describe the storylines of both the novel and the musical by heart. But the real sign of a dedicated phan: they can tell you the phantom's real name.

sweatdrop Anyway... sorry about that rant. I take my Phantom a little too seriously sometimes. Do forgive me! Please? sad

Yeah, it is mostly the movie fans, but not exclusively. Though I wasn't around then, I've been told that there was (albeit on a much smaller scale) that same sort of ignorant behavior among new musical fans before there was a movie. As for the Phantom's name, that used to be the case, but now the practice of calling every Phantom 'Erik', whether he is in that version or not, has crept its way among the movie phans as well.

Are you a member of Phanwank by any chance...?

Arq, seriously. Lay off the Mark scarf. Betch.

Rehearsal toniiiight guys. Act two. See you there! biggrin
Sadly I cannot make it to rehearsal tonight. xP I'm going to the movie theater to see Eragon. xD
I can't make it to rehearsal either- I have to visit my mom at the hospital. crying I really wanted to come, too! Hopefully, I won't screw up anything in Act 2, because I've been practicing it.
Unphortunatley, I have never heard the term "phanwank" before, Arq. What is it?

Also to everyone: I'm sure I've mentioned this at least once or twice, but I cannot be there this evening. I have to babysit. So sorry! I'll do whatever I can to be at the dress rehearsals.

On another note, do we have cast assignments for specific dates? I can't do the one on the 21st (I'll probably be quite late) but I believe the other nights are clear.

I'm excited for this play! *Squeel*
It's rather ridiculous in a cast of 17 that I can't manage to get 8 people together for a rehearsal. I don't understand how as our cast numbers rise our rehearsal attendence drops.

I understand it's a week day, but... We get better attendence on a Wednesday than a Friday? This better not happen again.

I'm very very sorry I was late, and yes I do think this is quite sad. But I will be on time when I can, or tell you ahead of time if I cant be there.
I am truly sorry, Arq. Seriously, if I could have been at rehearsal, I would have, but I already had tickets from the movie theater for this movie. Our theater is usually packed full, so it wasn't like we could just waste the tickets or anything. I was hoping someone could fill in for me, with this huge cast and all, but apparently I was wrong. I feel horrible for not being there, now, almost like I shouldn't be here. Seriously, this makes me feel terrible. I am really sorry...
My dad who lives in Ohio surprised us today and came to town. I'm sorry. crying sweatdrop

stare What-ev [[hehe, I used Ariana's word]], you can think what you want. I'm serious. Last time I saw him he took my sister and I to the actual Broadway production of Wicked.
Merry Christmas

Sorry about me missing rehearsal-I was busy.
I know it might have said I was on, but really, my internet was just open.
In all truth, my computer was spazzing.
