May I inquire what the next production will be or has it not been decided upon yet?

I said the GTC would do Rocky Horror if there was enough interest. There wasn't -- we didn't get as many actors as we needed but I gave in and edited the show down so we could do it anyway. Then I said GTC would continue if that RHS production was successful. It wasn't. Even with the already truncated cast we were struggling to get enough people to show up to rehearsals and performances, and then at performances it would be exaggeration to say we even had a handful of people watching.

So no, I don't have another production in the works. You all are discussing Les Mis and these big projects -- "only 10 people" isn't an "only" for the GTC anymore, who has to call on favors (which is a favor we've asked for far too often and I will not go begging for actors again -- I'm putting my foot down) just to get eight people and then struggles to get enough to show up.

Have you guys ever done Little Shop of Horrors?

We rehearsed it. Not enough actors were showing up to rehearsals so we had to cancel it and swap shows at the last minute and did Chess instead.

We had a chance to turn things around, guys, and nothing changed. The actors who were in RHS for the most part really DID put a lot into it -- and didn't get too much out of it, which isn't fair. They alone weren't enough and were being asked to work harder than I would've liked. It felt like they were being punished for being the ones who bothered to show up because they had to carry the weight for people who didn't. The GTC has lost some really great actors who don't want to be involved anymore for that very reason, and it's upsetting.

It's not like there aren't people willing to help.

Not so sure about that.

Basically, guys, I see more people around here discussing GTC and getting gung ho about it doing shows when it isn't doing shows. When it comes time to actually plan a show and get people to come audition, you all have dentist appointments and dogs to walk and run for the hills.

I'll try and put more footage up on the YouTube. That's as much of the future as I'm willing to plan right now.

Edit: Put up two random videos just now -- an ooold performance clip from bare, and an even oooolder performance clip... from our very first performance ever ever ever. For those who have seen it before, now, thanks to YouTube's improved video quality, it's clearer than ever and I annotated it (from memory/trying to look at the video, so apologies if there are any glaring mistakes).

Just for the record, when I said 'only 10 actors' I meant, as in comparison to the actual stage production which actually has like, 60. sweatdrop

But yeah, just doesn't seem doable for the GTC.

I'm sorry we didn't get enough interest. If my towns was 100% reliable, that I would most certainly be auditioning, etc. and if I had more time, I would've been whoring out the production to the best of my abilities.
If my dorm would frigging fix the connection, I'd be there. You know I would. But as it stands, I almost didn't even get to SEE the RHPS, because my internet died 5 minutes before the show (Literally five minutes. I was FREAKING out!), and I had to drag my friend's tech-savvy bf to come and fix it.

Next show the GTC does, whatever it is (If any show at all), I'll be sure to tell absolutely everyone I see about it, and help in whatever way I possibly can.
Arq, I didn't mind playing the 2 characters I did. Hell, if I could have, I would have play 3 or 4. You weren't asking me to do anything I didn't wanna do. If I hadn't of wanted to play 2 characters, I would have straight up told you I didn't. I wasn't being punished at all. I love Rocky Horror so being able to perform it was quite fun. And I'll still be around and try out for any other performances you might wanna do. I love the GTC and want to see it continue.
I love this, I just don't have a lot of internet as it is, and I still try and squeeze modding into that time. I do support you, though. heart
I do appreciate that the GTC has so much support and I know a lot of you would do shows if you could, but unfortunately that doesn't change anything.

I'm starting to put up In the Heights bit by bit, as that was over a year ago now so it takes precedence over Rocky Horror.

LAF -- I do appreciate that.

OMFG.... My brain just died, cause you guys are doing the rocky horror picture show...

OMG>>>>>>>>>

I didn't think anyone else knew about it... o.O

I think if you'll read back a bit you'll see that you missed RHPS and maybe the chance at any other show...

And as for people not knowing about it...have you ever heard of the live shows? I think that they're probably as big if not bigger than they ever were. IDK maybe I'm off my mark on that one. Point is that people know about it.

I hope this doesn't mean the GTC is in real danger...
I, for one, would be willing to do anything I can to keep you going...even sweeping the floor? I jest at that, but if you could use any costume or set help, including stuff, ask me. I know you really have a shortage of actors, but I am NOT the kind you want on your stage, so don't bother asking. The last time I was on any stage was as leading lady in a school play that turned into a fiasco.
A random bump for ya'll. ^^
This looks really fun. I hope you find more actors soon!
Actually, now that I have my own laptop, I can participate in shows!
I cried for a day when I got casted as Trekkie Monster in Avenue Q and my mother sent me off to camp.
Now I'm freeeeeeee biggrin

If the play were right I might be interested in giving it a shot. I use to be in drama when I was in school but somehow I don't think anything I learned there would apply here. heh
I might pull out a small show around the holidays.

The Best Christmas Pageant Ever! biggrin

OR

We could do Steel Magnolias. The play version only has six people.

I think I remember that movie. It's been a while since I've seen it though.
