May I inquire what the next production will be or has it not been decided upon yet?
I said the GTC would do Rocky Horror if there was enough interest. There wasn't -- we didn't get as many actors as we needed but I gave in and edited the show down so we could do it anyway. Then I said GTC would continue if that RHS production was successful. It wasn't. Even with the already truncated cast we were struggling to get enough people to show up to rehearsals and performances, and then at performances it would be exaggeration to say we even had a handful of people watching.
So no, I don't have another production in the works. You all are discussing Les Mis and these big projects -- "only 10 people" isn't an "only" for the GTC anymore, who has to call on favors (which is a favor we've asked for far too often and I will not go begging for actors again -- I'm putting my foot down) just to get eight people and then struggles to get enough to show up.

Have you guys ever done Little Shop of Horrors?
We rehearsed it. Not enough actors were showing up to rehearsals so we had to cancel it and swap shows at the last minute and did Chess instead.
We had a chance to turn things around, guys, and nothing changed. The actors who were in RHS for the most part really DID put a lot into it -- and didn't get too much out of it, which isn't fair. They alone weren't enough and were being asked to work harder than I would've liked. It felt like they were being punished for being the ones who bothered to show up because they had to carry the weight for people who didn't. The GTC has lost some really great actors who don't want to be involved anymore for that very reason, and it's upsetting.

It's not like there aren't people willing to help.
Not so sure about that.
Basically, guys, I see more people around here discussing GTC and getting gung ho about it doing shows when it isn't doing shows. When it comes time to actually plan a show and get people to come audition, you all have dentist appointments and dogs to walk and run for the hills.
I'll try and put more footage up on
the YouTube. That's as much of the future as I'm willing to plan right now.
Edit: Put up two random videos just now -- an ooold performance clip from bare, and an even oooolder performance clip... from our very first performance ever ever ever. For those who have seen it before, now, thanks to YouTube's improved video quality, it's clearer than ever and I annotated it (from memory/trying to look at the video, so apologies if there are any glaring mistakes).
