I don't see why you hate statistics, unless you are one of those typical kiddies who insists that statistics can prove anything and that they cannot be relied on to make conclusions.
You should really look into taking a stats class- there are valid methods to sampling and processing data to produce meaningful data.

I'm going to take a stab at the averages for fun.

Average worth: probably around 40-60 mil.
Average gold on hand: probably 1 mil, because there are exchangers with s**t tons of money, but I think the average person probably has about 300K on them at most times.
Average year joined: 2007
Average age: 20
Average number of accounts: 4

Your average of worth is a little low. 100mil sounds likelier at this point. That''s not to say you aren't right- we are all just stabbing in the dark. So far my average (of 23 participants) is 140mil worth.

Gold on hand is around 6mil, but it might go down to 1mil.

I think you are dead on with year joined and age. Both of those data sets are qualitative, so I will have to treat them differently.

I think average extra accounts will be around 3, but 4 might be right.

You have 23 people, and you honestly expect that your figures are anywhere near accurate?

You also have to take into account newbies, and the fact that most people don't carry gold. Right now your figures are eschewed by a couple of high end exchangers, but relatively no newbs. On a site where there are 30,000 active users at almost any given time you can't assume you have any sort of semblance to an average with 30 people, you're going to need at least 1,000.

Also, making this in the GCD isn't going to get you an average Gaian. By matter of wealth to other forums, the GCD is one of the wealthiest. We're Gaia's country club, because you don't start posting here when you join, because RIG lists and EI discussion really doesn't matter to people who can't afford MCs.

I guarantee you there are people on this site who think 50K is a lot of gold, and in the GCD you won't find them, and I also guarantee you that they outnumber the people with over 100 mil.

I completely agree with you.
I am trying to wrangle in people from other discussion boards. The CB thinks I am a fool. GD and ED entirely ignored me. GCD are the few to actually respond- perhaps because they care so much about themselves.
I will never feel comfortable claiming my results are accurate- they are voluntary-response. No conclusions should be made off what I gather.
Nonetheless, it is the only way I can go about it. I am still going to try.
