Welcome to Gaia! ::

[[Huge pictures, but only if it has like a million. One is fine if its Avi art and not too big or something but when you add seven or even three its ridiculous if its some butterfly or something.
Extremely bright text, gray is fine for me but cross that brightness and i ignore the post. :
Small text bellow 9 is the same.
Song lyrics i dont mind as long as they dont interfere with the post too much. HOWEVER, if its all emo and in bright colors, plus your Avi is all happy and flower covered- i just get annoyed with that. burning_eyes

Ive gone into the habit of changing my post style to fit my Avi, but i knew not to use white. I kept it simple because if it was covered in the stuff above, even i wouldnt want to read it.

I seriously hate when people have copious amounts of lyrics, pics, text, or excessive formatting (rainbow text, anyone?).

I understand prettying a post up. I'm not anti-decoration, but it should be just that - decoration. Simple, well thought out, and appropriate.

Agreed. I would love to use a simple post style just so my post stands out a little. But I don't feel like downloading the tektek toolbar again.

IMO - After the Halloween craziness is over they should stop changing the layout of the site and implement some other features.

A post style feature just like the tektek toolbar without the download. People who use to be on neopets (Dare I say it) know how the post style had a restriction yet enough room to make it just perfect.

I want to say add a restriction on post size itself but people in ED make some pretty long posts. Same thing with Art Shops. gonk It wouldn't work.

Edit: I am pretty blind so I hate those blinding texts. (and really small ones..)

Just to clarify, I don't mind text in a post format, as long as it's not easily confused with the actual post, or too excessive. I don't think more than a small quote/blurb or two is necessary. I did my best with this one to make it obviously different than the post sweatdrop
I like post formats but only if they are simple.
Usually when I do mine, I just have art at the side then a kind of simple design above and below the text.
Right now I don't have one Dx

Lit·er·a·ture – noun writings in which expression and form, in connection with ideas of permanent and universal interest, are characteristic or essential features, as poetry, novels, history, biography, and essays.

"@Airmaid - I was trying to offset it by keeping the actual post in black awhile having that part in a different color. :/ I think the blue underline in yours works well though, and really isn't a distraction, plus your little dancer is cute!"

I get what you're trying to go for, I really do, and I suppose it's just my problem because usually when I see any post format with a bunch of little icons like that, they usually have crazy colors and underlines and whatever else, so I've just gotten into the habit of starting to read that sweatdrop

And thanks c:
I love my little Ninian.
I'm not a fan of really tiny, really bright, or lyric-saturated post formats. Especially not all three. Today, I came across a size eight font. In cyan.

I really can't be bothered to do too much for post formats, although I want to. I just can never make one that looks nice, and is maintained in quotes. So, usually, I either have the default, or size the text up to fifteen.

I remember when I first got into formatting. I had this really awful one with two sketchily drawn heart halves (about 100x100 pixels each) at the very beginning and end of the post, with lyrics coming off of each end. Looking back, it was a poor choice.

The post styles that bother me the most are the ones with the sixteen lines of text on both the top and bottom of the post, twelve different pictures, links, etc.

Most of the time when I come across people with those post styles, and I finally find their damned post, it's like 1 sentence, and not anywhere near worth the time I just spent looking for it.

Funnily enough, one of the main reasons why I use a post style is so I can find my post on the page easily if I'm just skimming through, and then see whatever posts came afterwards >_>; *Weirdo*

Plus, it makes me feel pretty in a bizarre way... although yeah, I tend to keep it simple. No images here.

i hate overly pretentious RP posts buried in so many colors and symbols and stolen fanart -- no, excuse me, 'MAI OC DU NAWT STEEL' -- and where things as simple as 'age' get turned into things like 'i blow out this many candles!' thankfully, i rarely set foot in any RP forums, i only wind up seeing this kind of thing in the test forum if i need to preview a thread for something. but uggggh, don't bury what you're writing in so much s**t, it makes me not want to read it at all!

as for regular post styles ... i've been tempted to use one of my own, not huge or distracting ( because if i did, then that would make me a hypocrite regarding my previously stated points xD ) but then i'd be worried that people might not recognize me from posts i've written before. i don't like when people use more than one extra-huge image -- i saw someone post once with three big manga images surrounding an itty-bitty line of text and was like '... REALLY?'

it's even worse when people make quotewalls and don't remove those images. ;3;
If it's small and in a color that makes my eyes hurt I refuse to read it. I feel that if the poster wants their thoughts to be read then they will put them in a font and color that doesn't cause eye bleeding. Some people say "Highlight it." or "Click quote to see it in it's original font." to this I say no, I shouldn't have to do speacial things for you so I can read your post style.
-End of rant.

I like big, bold text, it's easy to read.
I like simple post styles, changing the font colour, size, bold or adding some underling.
Tiny pictures are fine as well.

5 icons and then 10 lines of lyrics, etc. and I'm probably not going to bother to read your post.
Name drop and example from this thread: scromlette.

I hope my post style isn't hard to read, it might be though with the small text and a fairly bright font. Hopefully the bolding offsets that.
I've used this post style since I joined and haven't had any complaints.
I loved the idea of flobs when the art somehow worked with the post
I remember one user who put a little flashing upside down triangle in the opposite corner to make it look like an RPG speech panel

But now that it's kinda been diluted to "Ohmahgawd gaiz luk @ mai avie art! blaugh blaugh blaugh "
ughh...
saddest thing is most of the time the art really isn't that good :/

User ImageI'm fairly tolerant of almost any post style but if you have so many images and quotes that the post itself gets buried in it, I just won't read the post. I cannot be bothered if I need a treasure map to find what you're trying to say.

The only post styles that outright annoy me are the ones that go something like this:

Quote:
☂ I'm questing for a Kiki Kitty Plushie - I will <3 you if you donate to me ☂
