My mom has been active on Gaia for years. Its really not that bad. She doesn't really "get in my way" or anything. We play ZOMG together, and when we had money to spare she would buy us both 4 letters a month. ;D
I guess my mom is just cool, but her joining Gaia was in no way the end of fun and frivolity.
No embarrassing pictures, no e-stalking, no random family members. Gaia isn't really for everyone. Just because your parent sends an invite to the rest of the family doesn't mean they would get into it and bother you.

My mom would constantly telling me to do some physical activity and my dad would be telling me to go out and talk to people.
AND MY MOM HAS SO MANY GOD DAMN PET NAMES FOR ME SHE WOULD NEVER SHUT UP.
And then probably ask why am I MALE. Why should I hide my actual gender, because I am FEMALE and will always BE FEMALE AND ASDFGDFS.
And she thinks my avatar looks like a cat.

That is, if my dad didn't hate cute little things and my mom wasn't computer retarded and able to speak English.

Also my mom would be trolled like hell because she can't write in English OR Spanish.

This is where I'm thankful that my family is a bit more
non-traditional. My mom, who's 56, would play but she'd just play on
the games and fish and that would be it. She barely knows
how to write an email.
My dad's passed away, so I don't have to worry about him.
He couldn't do email either. (He just played Boggle all the time
on our old computer).
My oldest brother, 35, has no interest.
My twin, he wouldn't come on because he'd think it'd make him
look gay.

Lol, are you kidding? XD My mom, sister, and I all joined at the same time! My brothers are on here as well. I don't mind it at all, we borrow each others' items and gift each other all the time. :3 My mom and I tend to play booty grab a lot, which is funny because we both have aquariums irl. XD Each family is different I guess, but we have fun with it so it's not embarrassing at all.

It would be hilarious if my dad joined though. I can picture him stalking the Official LOST thread in the entertainment forum or something like that, but I don't think he'd ever join Gaia. It's just not his sort of thing. XDD

Eeeeeeh no. I'd ACTUALLY quit, no lying. I wouldn't want mine anywhere near anything that brings me joy.
That usually means the joy will end emo

I'd do anything I could to fend them off, be it, say they support cults of demigods, to the existance of supernatural species, or keep them away with a torch and pitchfork, but I'd fight to make sure they don't join.
(even if they try and bribe me with GC, because they can be underhanded like that).

My dad has been on Gaia once on my younger brother's old account.
He went into the Chatterbox and I nearly lost my internet rights for a month.
Apparently, since so many people were in there, he assumed I also went in there.

Anyway, if my mother got an account here, I'd remain on my mule almost every day to avoid her.
My parents both probably know what my account name is already since I'm on so much.
My younger brother doesn't get online anymore, but when he was he bugged me for donations like there was no tomorrow.

My parents think that Gaia is for kids, and that I am childish for even participating in Gaia at all. rolleyes But I honestly wouldn't care if they took an interest in Gaia. I'd probably even help them with quests, show them the ropes and help them earn gold. biggrin
