So i was a lurkin' and it so happened that codemonkey posted a little sneak peek at some of the Towns 2.0 art.

It looks pretty cool. Like, it has that Gaian feel. The art is being done by Gem2niki and Buki bless their pixel hearts.

Also Narumi recently updated his journal. Apparently the Easter Bunny might be in the easter event. Those of you who are e-corp fanatics will probably love it.

I'm pretty interested in the talk about re-visiting zOMG for upkeep purposes (not new updates, but just general upkeep). Sounds sort of promising to me.

What do you think about the Towns 2.0 art?
What do you guys think about the direction they're going with the updates they'll be looking into (inventory arranger, guilds, a 'forum display' update, towns/games?). Looking forward to any of these?

ever put a fresh coat of paint on a house before? It makes it look brand new!

i'd probably want to see more trash in that pic but as it is...it looks fine to me. we should be able to do more in Towns too. the only concerns are people having trouble loading the new interface and networking capabilities (being able to find/connect with people as easy as it is to do in Towns 1.).

btw Towns 1.0 is supposedly going bye bye some time in the next couple of weeks if things go according to their plans. better enjoy it while you can

remember when they always say "we cant update guilds cause the code is old as ******** and if we touch it, it might break forever"

that was also the old towns


so yeah, while it may just look like a new coat of paint its also going to let them update and add things to towns easier than they could before

The entire backend has been rewritten and the entire front-end was rewritten/updated to upgrade it from AS2 to AS3. It's much more than just a new coat of paint, but we're putting quite a bit of shine on what you'll be able to see smile

Cautiously optimistic, to be honest.

Sure, it looks infinitely better than before but the art style isn't what makes me not use current towns~.
e: way beaten and answered, I'm a slowpoke today~.

With that also said, I'm thrilled that they're finally going back and updating stuff they sweeped swept under the rug while they added more stuff!
