well, Living forever isn't that great a thing, even as a child, everyone else aroudn you will age, grow old, die... and you'll jsut be left alone in your childhood forever. So while instantly becoming an adult may be a bit of a shock/jump, in the long run you'll get over the said shock and be able to function as an adult :3

Though the 'bizarre scientific plot twist' sound like a 'hinthintnudgenudge no matter what you choose thigns will eventually be the way they were before' to me >3>
