Where did "bump" come from and what does it mean?

I see people use it a lot in the chatterbox forum, and I've used it myself too... xp But I don't really get the point..

Is it just a word people write just to write somethin or what?

But its easier to say bump.

It means really nothing. Just some sillyness somebody invented when he/she had nothing to post to get gold. If you are a smart person and you want to be recognized in Gaia as one, you won't use that word 3nodding

Makes you wonder though. Did peole create the acronym B.U.M.P to fit the word bump as in bump this post. That sometimes happens where people try to add meaning where there is none.

Its like the whole chicken/egg thing.
