Not my place to thumb my nose at other people's taste.

I may not like it and may in fact find it downright ugly -- but I'd rather expend effort on my own avatar than worry over someone else's.

Seriously, this just seems like an attempt to validate/vindicate one's personal taste/aesthetics over someone else's, when it's all just subjective.

I think is all depends on the outfit. Expensive and cheap can both look good and bad. I just wear what I like, sometimes I'm a bit cluttery because I like too many plushies etc.

I can't really explain it but, if an avi matches my tastes then I like it!

I dunno, I just tend to believe in people doing their own thing in regards to avatars, doesn't seem fair to inflict my aesthetic sense onto someone else, is all. Especially since you seem to be making some assumptions about wealth/aesthetics/attitude in your own OP.

Obnoxious people exist all over - whether their avatar cost 5g or 50000000000g. xd the default "troll look" exists for a reason.

I just put on what works for whatever kind of avatar I'm makin'.

I try to concentrate on nice avatars over expensive items (though I am tempted to throw some of my more expensive stuff on every once in a while).

I don't really care about the price of items~ I mostly look for well-coordinated avatars along with the "personality" of the users. In other words, price doesn't really matter.

However, sometimes I wonder about the items used and often times, the items that helped with the coordination tend to be expensive in the marketplace.

Other then that, clutter, even with valuable items, isn't something I pay attention to. Additionally, they aren't very appealing to draw at times while accepting commissions. ^^;

I am more impressed when someone can make a great flowing avatar with items that aren't horrendously expensive, or even maybe only having a few.

I really like Queen Jane Approx.'s avi right now ; I know she has a Hunter Duo but I mean, her items are more basic.
