I prefer avis made with items that just look good together. Expensive or not. A little while ago, I was able to make nice avis with nothing expensive whatsoever.

Right now, I have on mostly expensive items, but that's mainly because I'm in the "Yay I can afford them!" stage. biggrin

I don't know if I fairly gauge avatar wealth, but really, I won't just like something for price tag alone. Some of the coolest items are cheap.

But like it's been said, so many expensive items are just done better. <3

Well...what one person thinks looks good might look really bad to another person. I love my avatars, but someone else may think they are hideous.

That aside...I guess how expensive the avatar doesn't really matter...aside from the fact that many higher priced items are better pixeled.

Seriously guys, I can't stress this enough, I'm not saying "do you hate a person for their avatars if they're not rich enough?". I'm saying, do you appreciate a cheaper better done avatar, or a cluttered expensive avatar.

What I said about the rude forum and good forum, is that people in different forums appreciate different things, which is visible by the avatars, like how everyone is so refined here and in the avatar talk and everyone isn't as refined about avatars in the GD where they mainly use it as a status symbol, once again, I'm sorry if I offended anyone, I did not mean to, that's for sure.

Hm, I never make an avatar just because it's wealthy ( unless it's a gaian run event day ). The more expensive items are pixeled better thenn some of the non-expensive ones, and I enjoy using shiny things. I have to admit, though, if a person can make an avatar that's cheap and it looks wonderful, I'd definately appreciate it more then a MC-filled, expensive avatar. Usually people who clutter their avatars with super expensive things just for the sake of making them expensive turn out to be super flashy instead of nicely matching.

I tend to appreciate[and use myself] a good balance of both cheap and more expensive items. I usually use an E.I or two but not because of price, they just help complete an outfit. I absolutly love to see a cute avatar made with cheap items, just not usually something I can pull off myself.

I hardly ever make simple, cheap avatars. Normally I use my Angelic Pendant so it always ends up being 3mill worth of items sweatdrop
My avatars are never made because they are expensive though. I make them because I like how it looks.

There's no discussion there. You're already qualifying the cheaper avatar as "better", so what are we supposed to say? "Wow, I totally love the cluttered expensive avatar more even though it's objectively worse by the rules of the original hypothetical?" rolleyes

I read a few of the first pages and you seem to be trying to make this a fair argument by saying, "Well, you could like ugly expensive avatars because you're just impressed by their sheer cost." Still not a lot of discussion there.

In short, people are not talking about what you want them to talk about because your original topic is incredibly shallow. The entire topic seems set up for people to be like, "You know, expensive avatars have their place, but I also like cheap, but tastefully color-balanced avatars. WEALTH ISN'T EVERYTHING."
