I'm just going to point some things out here and you can disregard my individualistic thinking if you'd like, but you tell me when I'm wrong. The real joke is if you EVER thought I could be right! Hey, I'm laughing!

I like to play "Republican" and if I don't like somebody I call them a Democrat. In truth I'm very conservative and lean more Right than Left, I don't agree with a lot of what is going on in the white house right now and plop jokes here and there.

I play around a lot with the "deeper meaning of things" on Gaia Online. The latest of which; Demonbusters. And when I started to make jokes of how related the BOO faction was to the Democrat party... I suddenly realized not only could I not STOP the jokes... but they were more so true than a joke *GASP*

Okay let's break it all down here.

The Overseer is Barrack Obama.
Barret is Joe Biden.
Mirai is Nancy Pelosi.

The Overseer is hard to appease, stubborn and always needing something from you. In the beginning we generally liked the Overseer. The overall system of Aquariums was rewarding, Booty Grab gave us lots of gold and some of the prizes the Overseer gave us was within the thousands range of worth (it used to give Evolution Items!). But as time wore on, we realized the mistakes of this system. The Overseer was ruining the economy with Booty Grab; causing overpriced RIG items and our once-valuable Monthly Collectibles to be worth less than 10k sometimes. Not only that, but our rewards for keeping our Aquariums in top shape was taken away; and we were supposed to be satisfied with a hundred or so gold every time we came back. Through out this all, we are still expected to meet its satisfaction standards and spend our hard earned cash for things like Loot Keys and the Lottery.

...If you were a little inventive, you could replace words with the paragraph above and find how similar our current political system is with the Aquarium system.

The nail in the coffin that made me pin this to today's current political controversy was the extra option in the event. Under one of the Sabotage missions for Sentinel, it allowed you to call out a smear campaign using a public radio station to ruin the Overseer's image...

As with all presidencies, there is a time of well-being, celebration, but after time.. we see that the president is unable to fulfill all of the promises he made and our approval goes down.

You could have compared it to the Bush term just as well.

The trouble with metaphors is when you start binding the truth to make it true, and ignoring other truths to make it fit.

In the very beginning we hated the Overseer, and all of Aquariums. It generates GOLD. Republicans are credited with a lot of financial upturns in the US. DEMOCRATS are accredited with a lot of change.

My specialty has never been politics, but based on this, I see the overseer as Republican, and Sentinel as a Democrat who wants change. I'd say your entire metaphor is backwards and full of holes.

I often do little comparisons like that. Less with American politics because I'm not American (although I do know every person you've mentioned), but I lean how most educated people do in Australia - fiscal policy right, social policy left <3, come out somewhere in between xd

And Black, not to mention Republican's should identify more with the authoritarian self styled moral righteousness of The Overseer. Though Paulin much like "Evil" fancies propaganda and misinformation campaigns intertwined with lunacy and blatant hypocrisy. Then again, that's more or less a reflection of the vast majority of the Republican party.

The Sentinel won the popular vote but could still lose to the Overseer, thanks to an awkward system that noone really understands.

The Overseer is prone to acting and speaking strangely, which is amusing, but makes us question his ability as a leader.
